But none of you have been to Southfield Michigan and got a hot pastrami on rye from an authentic Jewish deli.
With a new pickle.
Argh it’s that time of year. The spiders are getting into the house to get out of the cold. Just killed an ugly one. But they are all ugly I think.
Just gave me chills. LOL
Please if you have never been to one, in CA. only, go to “The Hat”.
We have a Burger joint in Town called Galaxy Burgers. The owner is a massive Star Wars nut, and the place is covered wall to wall Star Wars memorabilia. The burgers there are outstanding and the menu is Star wars themed. The best burger there in my opinion is the Trooper Special with Pepper Jack and grilled Jalapenos and it’s like $6 for the entire meal. Thursdays is free beer nght too.
What town is this???
Found the Californian…
Found the Texan…
Want a realy good smoked sandwhich montreal ontario is famous for its schwartz smoked sandwhichesschwartzsdeli
Yeah, order the small fries…
<— Life long Californian who doesn’t like In and Out.
It’s edible to me but I really don’t like the sauce. The burger is bland to me without it. Which to me is a bad burger.
If the sauce is mayo based
I’ve done extensive pseudoscientific research over the years and concluded that opinions about food expressed by anybody who thinks they have actually had pizza in California, or anyone from a town where you can’t get good halva and/or they don’t know how to pronounce gyros, is seldom, if ever, to be trusted.
AND:
having never heard of either place other than on this forum, and not normally imbibing in any “fast food” more than two or three times a year (not counting pizza or the bakery near me that makes a great cuban), I checked where these places are.
Whereas: the nearest In and Out to me is 1,450 miles away
AND
Whereas: the nearest Whataburger is 1,604 miles away.
Therefor:
In the unlikely event I decide I need to get a fast food burger it will most likely be a Baconator.
QED
If I should, for some insane reason, decide to travel ridiculous distances just to enjoy a burger … . I will go back to the last place where I actually had a real burger from a “burger joint”; that would be Lee Vining California near Mono Lake. Of course that was many years ago and the place may have changed over the decades, I think it was the “Mono Cone”.
I’m born and bred California, and find In-N-Out about the blandest waste of my time. Then again, what I do favor in burgers isn’t native to California: Five Guys. Now that’s some flavor.
Detroit style pizza is the best.
We are supposed to get a Five Guys here soon. I’ve been looking forward to trying it.
I’ve heard good things about Five Guys’ burgers. Thinking I might give them a try this week.
Oh I fully agree, and this will spark a debate…again…fo sho haha
Unfortunately the closest In N Out to me is 4 hours away or so.
I am not one to get political, especially here,. I will not get into my political beliefs. But one thing I can do is laugh at a funny joke, no matter whose expense it is at.
That is just damn funny papa wolf
In other news, I have some Hi Chew so I am a happy Orc.
Detroit pizza is a funny shape, but it is actually pizza.
New York pizza is real pizza, some places in New England also do it well.
Chicago deep dish style may or may not be a fine meal depending on both who made it and your tastes, but it isn’t pizza any more than Pringles are potatoe chips.
Saint Louis has, for some reason, switched to an odd not-mozzarella (Provel processed cheese?) cheese, two thumbs down.
California seems to think that something that looks like a soft matzo can be used instead of pizza crust, the crust is important.
Although there are some places in Toronto were you can get a decent pizza (don’t bother looking in Vancouver, I never tried it when I was in Winnipeg, Saskatoon or Edmonton and I’ve never been to Calgary so I can’t comment) but the bottom line here is that Canada can never be absolved for the sin of pineapple on pizza, it’s like we were to make something with Velveeta, canned gravy, and microwaved frozen fries and say it was poutine.
