I am writing this forum post per the advice of Customer Support in response to the ticket I submitted. I wrote the ticket to gain information on why I did not receive the Crimson Legend: Dragonflight Season 1 achievement and title despite the fact that I was in range at the time the season was supposed to end. I was told that Customer Support has no recourse to correct this and to post here, as well as submit a bug report so that the devs themselves can see this and look into it.
I believe that I earned the title and there may be an issue with how things were handled considering the unintentional extension of the season. For reference, I have attached a screenshot of the ladder that I took the day after the season ended, with alts circled and one person who climbed after the end of season “X’ed”. At 10pm PST on May 1st when the season was supposed to end, I was #18 on the windwalker ladder, indicated by my in game rank on my solo shuffle tile in the PvP pane.
As we all know the season went on about 55 minutes beyond this time, and during that time I watched my rank in game. 20-25 minutes after 10pm, I watched my rank drop to 19 because the person 1 spot above me (Gothamonk) managed to pass me by 1 cr, effectively “knocking me out”. Once the final ladders and cutoffs had been updated, the Blizzard API was returning that Gothamonk, now occupying spot #18, was R1 eligible and his rating (3494) was the cutoff for windwalkers. We did not receive any official word on how the extended season would be handled, however all I could hope was that they would either do a snapshot or rollback to 10pm and give titles based on ratings at those times. If this were the case, I would still be #18 and my rating (3493) would be the cutoff. I also had to operate under the presumption that this would be handled similar to when this same thing happened in Shadowlands S1, in which they did the rollback and properly awarded titles to those in range at the true end of season, but also gave titles to those who climbed into range after the season ended. To confirm this, I have been checking to see if he was awarded the title, which he was not. This combined with the fact that Pikaboo did not get the title on his warrior tells us that this time, they opted not to give titles to those who climbed into range after the end of season. I am however worried that they did not award titles to those who were knocked out of range after the end of season. I have been in contact with a few other players who were also in range at 10pm, got passed after the end of the season, and did not receive the title or achievement.
I really gave everything I had this season and was confident I would receive the title, and logging in last Tuesday and not receiving it because of this whole debacle has been very disheartening. I am hoping that the devs or whoever is in charge of this can look into it and properly award myself and those few others who were in range at the true end of season.
