Classic WoW was not like this - Not worth my money

It’s blatantly obvious that they rushed this out with little to no regard for the integrity of the game. As a closed beta participant I wholly believe the beta should have been open, they would have caught way more things and seen trends.

Would people be willing to make the trade off of moving to a lower population server for better balance, if either of those things are issues (which some people seem to claim they are, so we can agree that they are issues for those people at least).

People seem to be claiming that Horde won’t server transfer, because Horde doesn’t want balance, and all Horde players rolled Horde for the Racial advantages.

Certainly, stunning an Orc is more difficult than stunning a human (I stunned an Orc rogue today! in Duskwood, who then killed me, but I felt as though I won, because I landed that HoJ).

Anyway, so far I think that definitely some of the issues that people have would have not happened if some people rolled on PVE servers. There is no question that that is the case in some instances, e.g. “I want to walk into BRD by myself at level 52 and not die, during peak server times.”

Is faction balance an issue? I don’t think anybody is claiming that in a 10000 vs 1 there is not an incredibly obvious advantage for the larger numbers. Heck, even in a 40:60, or 2 vs 3, there’s an advantage for the 3, that is obvious.

What isn’t obvious though is whether having say 3000:3000 on servers would resolve any issues that people are talking about that would not be resolved by those people having rolled on PVE servers.

On a 3000:3000 server, would there be times when Horde camped BRM, and times when Alliance camped BRM, and would that be OK and acceptable? Maybe. How is Kurinnaxx? it’s the most balanced as far as we can tell with the data available. It also has just under 2000 reported active raiders logging.

Do we have a strong enough sense of what the precise issues are?

If it is a balance issue, then can we make some appeals to those who would like to PVP more, and help to create a player-driven push for balance, driven by pride in their servers and guilds?

You could start by recruiting recruitment champions. Power level them, and in-turn have them power level new recruits. Recruit people whose real life professions or education are in PR/Marketing/Social Media/Advertising, etc. or those who are learning and would like to put their skills to use. Measure the effects, and make a difference!

Is there any indication that that would help to resolve the issues people are speaking of? Are the problems defined well enough that we can easily see clear solutions?

People who stick with the game all the way are going to be thanking the gods that the server populations are higher when people start dropping like flies. I don’t want to be on a dead server a year from now and higher server populations will help deter that.

No doubt. At first, it was a valid point that Blizzard didn’t expect Classic to be a smash hit like it was, but they should’ve allocated a lot more personnel in the following months.

Random, but I’ve yet to test and you play two casters: have you noticed that any spell specific interrupt also extends the GCD for the person being interrupted (as if they had just used an ability), rather than reset the current GCD like it should? I noticed it the other night several times when I would bait a kick/pummel with mindblast, then be unable to cast holy for another 1.5 sec. If it’s working the way I think it is, that’s insanely busted and needs to be fixed.

Still less than 3 months since launch. (just throwing that out there).

I haven’t been paying attention to that to be honest but I will try and test that tonight.

This server tick though… if I had a dollar for every time I counterspell in the last .5 seconds of their cast and the cast still goes off without interrupting or spell locking I’d be rich

Early I fake casted a flash heal, stopped at about 1 sec in. Threw a renew. Then ate a counterspell. Lolwut.

It’s rough dude, there’s so many bad players that when I go up against a good one I’m at a disadvantage because I’m so soft from killing people that don’t fake fast or CS me. If I fake cast against someone who isn’t going to CS me either way I’m putting myself at a disadvantage lmao… then the next dude is going to CS me and I don’t fake cast and I get CSed. Mages specifically more so than warlocks/shamans.

if kurinnaxx is the most balanced, this issue is worst than expected. im on there and its just constant alliance slaughter. Idk if everyone is hiding but its hard for us to do much unless we really go off into the distance and grind in which case its more managable. they control all the high level zones at all times of day.

After that experience, I don’t even bother anymore. It’s a total gamble as to whether some seemingly impossible event, like what I just described, is going to happen vs. them actually wasting the interrupt. It’s definitely easy to get outplayed by bad players in that way, especially with how high burst is.

Yeah there’s a lot of BS that goes on, thankfully my class is faceroll and I can just stomp people with little to no effort 90% of the time. As long as it’s not a warrior or rogue with FAPs… that’s bad news bears

I have 15 years of exp over Chian and Taiwan server. But still, because i was late for the classic, i’m now only lv54. It is impossible for anyone to beat 4-5 lv60 hordes. In our server hordes are grouped to intentionally kill those leveling players. I know this is a pvp server, but it seems that if the horde keeps swiping out leveling alliance in this way, it will become a horde pve server for them.

Yeah, based on the data available through raid logs, at https://ironforge.pro/servers/, Kurinnaxx is showing at about 45:55 with a little over 1900 people raiding.

And this is on perhaps, the most balanced PVP server out there.

:eyes:

Well, this definitely helps address the faction issues.

Cant complain seeing as we didnt have to pay $40 for classic which is what it should of been priced at.

Yeah I don’t run spy, I don’t even remember people running it on any of the private servers I played on either. Hopefully it’s less of a dependency for some people now.

I do after I logged on->rezzed->hearthed to IF->checking mail->ganked by 2 rogues :smiley:

I think it’s broken AF but I’m not going to turn down that kind of advantage. Plus, rank 1 Holy Nova spam with reach talent is pogchamp for popping rogues out.

Lmao yeah I have no Ill will towards people who use it, I see it as basically a dumbed down DBM for pvp. It’s not like it automates anything anyway.

Aww how cute. More “Little Hercules” who thought they were the bestest evar at PvP found out that they are anything but are now quitting…Shoulda rolled PvE if you can’t handle it.
