So, this appears to only be an issue in guild chat, but my characters are not showing online in the guild panel, and if they’re characters I had previously transferred at one point or another, they’re showing their old names and servers in guild chat exclusively. It’s not happening in whispers, /say, or trade chat, but it happens in guild chat.
I’m on Stormrage, which is not a connected server, and it’s showing other large servers as well that are also non-connected, such as Sargeras and Zul’jin.

Edit: After further testing, this is only happening on characters that I have transferred at some point in the past. Characters that have been on Stormrage the whole time show as online in guild chat and have the correct name.
Edit 2: As of 11/6, this character appears to have been fixed. I didn’t do anything special, just one day I logged in and it was working again.

This is happening to me also. My toons aren’t showing in my guild tab and when I type in chat some of them have my server from 2 different transfers ago.

This is also happening to me. The difference none of my toons have ever been on a different server. I created the toon in question on Nesingwary and it has always been there, but I have been being listed in chat from Stormrage.
I’m getting something similar. It’s affecting both guild chat and community chat. Not only does it show an old name well before I had joined this particular guild/community, it also treats that name as a different character. It shows options for muting/reporting them like it would for another member as well as giving the message for them being a different faction and thus restricting how we can group.
Also happening to me on two separate accounts, using names of characters I’ve never even had and servers I’ve never played on!
This is happening with my guild as well. Unrelated characters not using the phone app.
Seeing this in my guild ( not this toon ). Not with characters that have transferred and some people see the name one way, some see it the other.

I am having the same issue. I thought it was a hi issue I reset my entire ui and folders and still happening. Any solutions? There are times when I can’t even be seen as online in guild.
Same here, all toons that were transferred are showing their original server. I am not sure what kind of support ticket to open for it.
I have this problem as well. Not all, but many of my alts that I transferred from an old server are showing as being from that server in the guild roster AND they are showing the incorrect level. (Ex: level 51 instead of 60). At least 2 characters that I race changed are listed as the old race as well. This is happening in both my alt guild and my main guild. I also can’t see their guild rank or any other info. I can’t promote or edit guild roles on any character (even the ones with the correct server/level/race)
Same here been a long time but now this toon shows back to old server.
Same issue here. Wrong name, wrong server name, and wrong level shown in the guild roster after having my transferred character invited.
Serious data synchronization or corruption issues going on here. Wondering if it’s some sort of cache invalidation issue.
Same issue here, it also randomly shows some of my max level alts as level 50, and even shows some of my alts as being online in guild lol…
Same problem here, transferred 2/3 weeks ago. No issues with Guilds and Communities tab in 9.2.7.
Also have this issue, one of my characters is showing as a name/realm that I used 5+ years ago
