This whole prepatch is so scuffed 
Been trying for two hours to get in
Was able to log into all of my characters until I changed servers to create a new character. Game wouldn’t let me create the character, saying character creation timed out. Now my characters don’t show up on the server list at all and whenever I try to load up an existing character it tells me character not found.

every single realm i have characters on is the same for me… also cant make a new toon at all either… none of my allied races are showing up saying i dont have the achievement
I’m replying because I see that a lot of posts with people having the same issue as I am being closed and telling those people to join in here where people are having the login issue where they tried to change characters now when they choose characters it says character not found. Are these issues even the same issue? Because those people can at least see their character select screen, a lot of my guildies had that issue last night
More than likely, yes it’s all the same issue. I’m not sure how Blizzards infrastructure is set up, but it would appear to me that a Database Server is having a tough time of things at the moment. It may only affect Accounts who have info hosted on that particular server.
Perhaps it’s all different now, but it used to be: Authentication Server, Realm Servers, Database Servers – The database servers have your account with all the info about it: servers you have characters on, those characters, the items those characters are wearing, the quests those characters have completed… etc.
The delayed loading of the Character List, the failure to present servers with active characters… etc… COULD all be a failing Database server. Perhaps, all of us with issues are handled by the same Database Server.

Giving it a go now. Might as well. Clicking the big red button over and over again hasn’t seemed to get me far.
If you stay on screen of the realm you have your chars in, they suddenly appear after a while. About “character not found” may it be a “world server down” kind of thing?

With has many expansions as WoW has released everyone here shouldn’t be surprised any of this is going on.

i cant even access any realms i have on the list that my toons are on shows them gone but my other friends are logging in just fine
blizzard support didnt help at all and basically ignored most of my message
If this is how the Pre-patch is going, I am stoked for the expansion launch. Full immersion activated.

if it was a ftp game there would likely be far less griping. Since this game costs $$$ each month just to play, in addition to purchasing the base game/expansions, ppl are far more likely to complain. I don’t blame them. I’m a bit disappointed myself. I was playing and got kicked out and 2 of my characters are completly missing. That’s hours of my life gone because of some “techinical” issue. I’m by no means an “addict”. I haven’t played since Jan. Only playing now bc shadowlands looked cool. But if they can’t/won’t fix this problem soon, I might not be back at all and cut my losses.
I’m sorry that the support and development team is understaffed. I know from experience that these type of issues are very frustrating to deal with internally, knowing that on the back end there just isn’t enough man power to get things resolved in a timeframe that those passionate about their jobs would want to accomplish. I hope that issues like this make it up to the proper parties who can make changes within the needed departments so issues like this do not persist for 48+ hours.

Couldn’t play yesterday, can’t play today. Maybe eventually I’ll be able to play the game that I pay $15/mo for. Hopefully.
