Upon crafting a 291 Skybreakers Fiery Demise on my Shaman (Taopunk), I was immediately disconnected from the game, followed by “Character with this name is already in use.” After logging to another character for a while as is normal with this error, I can attempt to log-in only to be immediately disconnected again.
I have tried disabling all addons, deleting WTF/Cache with no luck.
Character stuck self-service claims it successfully moved my character to Durotar, but the issue persists and this service is now on cooldown for the 8 hours.
Interestingly enough, I seem to be seeing the same issue with the character so it isn’t a UI issue.
I found an issue that may be related to yours that is being looked into. This might require a bug fix, and not something that our Support staff can assist directly with. I’ll keep an eye on the issue and update this post when I see something.
Unfortunately, this isn’t a simple stuck issue. I don’t have a lot of news on that front, they do believe they’ve made some headway, but I don’t have an ETA on the fix being implemented to fix characters impacted by this issue.
As soon as I hear something definitive, I’ll post an update.
Just chiming in that I just had this happen to me on my Death Knight, Olizia, on Steamwheedle Cartel - Upon crafting 291ilvl Frenzied Monstrosity Cloak, I was immediately disconnected. Before I saw the thread, my first instinct was to try the unstuck command, which now while my character is in Westfall, I still cannot log in, instantly disconnected. The character remains online shortly afterwards, and I can see them on /who of my other characters for a bit.
Yea my guildmates can see me connect and then immediately disconnect. It’s the same thing. We’re at the mercy of this bug until we hear otherwise it seems. At least we got some input from Vrakthris here instead of staring at a ticket for a week+
I am posting on behalf of my youngest brother. He didn’t craft a legendary but got the infinite disconnecting/WoW crashing loop. He restarted bnet and the computer, as did I after he told me he was having problems. I went to see if the drivers needed to update, but since he was playing on our other brother’s computer, I didn’t have the password so I just logged onto his account on my computer. The same thing happened, infinite disconnect/WoW crashing.
I relogged into my account and everything was fine for me. On my brother’s account, he can log into beta, ptr, and classic just fine, but any time he tries to hop on retail, it insta crashes WoW. If I need to submit a ticket on his account, I will, as it doesn’t seem like there’s been a fix yet.
