Can't pick up quests from Boralus scouting map

This pertains to my main character, level 70 paladin, Sokrate on Area 52.
Faction changed from Horde to Alliance, and trying to get all the BFA alliance side quests and achievements done.
I’ve completed the following achievements since faction changing:
The Fourth War
A Nation United
The Pride of Kul Tiras
Tides of Vengeance
The Long Con
A Sound Plan
Come Sail Away

The mission board in the Boralus Harbormaster’s office has a ! highlighted on it, but when I click on it, I can’t choose a location (Drustvar or Stormsong Valley) to start the quest chains there.

I’ve found the following similar topics related to this:

So far I’ve found no solution. Please help.

Nothing is standing out, Odiseus, as far as I can tell you should have the option to start either questlines for Drustvar or Stormsong Valley.

I might be able to take a closer look and poke around a bit. If you are able to jump onto a different character for a bit, let me know.

Thank you for looking into this. Whatever the issue is, it’s character specific. Maybe to do with the faction transfer?
I logged in on my other alliance character, level 60 warrior on Mal’ganis (also named Sokrate) and per the screenshot attached, his Scouting Map is opening up fine. (top image)

On my main, it looks like the bottom image:

Just to reiterate.

Meaning, I would need to take a look at your character with you not logged into it. You can play any other character on your license but I would need access to your level 70 Sokrate.

If you cannot, then I can only recommend submitting a bug report so our QA team can possibly take a look.

Understood. No longer logged onto paladin. thank you.

Great. I’ll let you know as soon as I am done poking around. You are welcome to log into any other character though, it won’t have any impact.

Alright, you should be able to log onto the character again.

The only quest that I can see that you are missing is Island Expedition. I picked it up for your character so give that a try and once you complete it and turn it in check the Scouting Map again.

Let me know.

Hi, first time posting here and I have no idea if I should be bumping this thread or making my own (so I’m sorry if this is wrong!). I had the exact same issue, working on loremaster at level 70 and I can’t get the drustvar and stormsong valley starting quests from the scouting map after completing tiragarde sound. I managed to start drustvar by getting the next quest in the series off of the guard that stands on the border of the two zones and was able to complete the zone, but for stormsong valley I am pretty sure (from Wowhead) that you need to get the quest from the map to start a chain that checks off the first section of the stormsong valley loremaster achievement. So without it I can’t continue.

The only difference I’m noticing from the original poster is that I didn’t do a faction change.

Another thing I noticed is that the scouting map in the harbormaster’s office won’t even open, but the one that is part of the mission table on the ship has the two quests (for drustvar and stormsong) ‘available’ but when I click accept no quest appears. Other weird thing is that my Battle for Azeroth campaign tracker in the questlog says 0/3 completed (with tiragarde and drustvar started) even though those two zones are 7/7 and 10/10 completed. I wondered if this might have something to do with the problem because I think you have to make progress in a zone before being allowed to select the next zone from the map, and it doesn’t seem to be tracking my progress there. Finally, as you suggested doing the Island Expedition quest, I can’t get that because I haven’t done the war campaign (I looked it up and you have to do the first two footholds before it becomes available).

I’ve been working on loremaster for a month and getting to the end and this is the first time I’ve experienced a blockade like this. Thanks so much for anyone reading, I hope it made sense.

Just the easiest thing to check, first off - do you have your trivial quests tracker on? Just to make sure you can see all of the older quests that are available?

The Zandalar Campaign appears to be available from Halford Wyrmbane on the ship (Wind’s Redemption).

Are you able to pick that up from him and select one of the footholds? If you can, I’d probably start there.

Hi, I have trivial quests checked yes. And yeah, I didn’t want to work on the war campaign since it’s separate from the loremaster storylines but I will try it to see if it makes the scouting map work! Thank you.

Just wanted to update, I did all three war campaign footholds and the island expeditions quest. Still can’t pick up stormsong valley. I’m going to move on to work on the shadowlands loremaster and see if it’s something that fixes itself in time, but in the meantime if anyone has any ideas I’d love to hear. Thanks again

Did you complete Uniting Kul Tiras yet, Bhavana? That’s the only other quest I can think of.

You did have Waycrest Manor: The Fallen Mother still available in Drustvar, but I don’t think that has anything to do with the achievement and unlocking other quests.

I can’t complete Uniting Kul Tiras because it requires friendly with storm’s wake and I can’t start stormsong valley to get that rep. I’m very confused lol, never had a problem like this before.

Ah! That makes sense.

I would agree. I’m not sure what may be preventing you from starting those quests. I’ll see what I can find out next week when more folks are in.

I’m having the same exact issue. I’ve already done these quests before on a main a long time ago and was leveling an alt. I can’t access the beginning Stormsong quest at all. The board even shows a ! when you scroll over it but it doesn’t show on the world map. I even got the quest for A Nation United and couldn’t get the Stormsong quest from the board. The completion dates for the achievements are all different as well. Also the story Trouble In Tiragarde Sound has no more quests but I was told by a GM it still shows as needing to be completed. I even ran some scripts from Wowhead that tell you the status of quests and it comes back as true for the last quest in the story chain. My map book though doesn’t have a green check next to it…something is broke.

Is your toon lvl 60

Yeah he’s 62…can you not get the quest past 60?

Some quests after u reach a certain threshold require u to be lvl 60.

Well as I stated before, I’m past 60, so something else is borked. Thanks though.
