Can we get a response on re-rendering issue in WoW?

Ever since a couple months ago every few hours (or when i open the collections tab, that triggers it almost every time) my game freezes for about 5 seconds, and then every single texture in the game bugs out and re-renders. Takes about 15-20 sec to go back to normal. It happens inside arenas, inside dungeons, anywhere. It’s getting exhausting.

No, it’s not my pc. No, it’s not my GPU. Doesn’t happen on any other game, my 2nd monitor keeps showing the same image without issues while this is happening so it’s clearly not a “gpu getting reset” issue.

I’ve reinstalled and updated every gpu driver, ive reinstalled wow, ive updated windows, ive tried dx11 and dx12. THIS IS A WOW RELATED ISSUE, and im tired of looking at posts of hundreds of other players having this same issue and in the responses people tell them to try fixing this or that on their pc. IT’S NOT OUR PC’S, IT’S ON THE GAME’S END.

Do something about it Blizzard, please, a bug like this is driving players away. We can’t even get an acknowledgement of the issue or when will it be fixed. It should be the bare minimum.

Bug forums and tech support arr the best place there are no gms or dev here and orlyia and vrak can do alot of great stuff but they cant fix bugs.

Tbh i meant to post this in tech support, not sure why i did it here, lol.

Same happening to me. JUST updated driver again. Clean install. Now I am watching my screen rerender over and over. If I open Transmog, everything goes black.

I swapped to DirectX11 and my framerate went to a crawl, but it solved the issue. My best guess: DirectX12 strikes again.

Any ideas???

One monitor can lose connection with the GPU while another remains on, there’s nothing new about that. There’s also a chance some other game you’re not playing right now could trigger the same event, so having it happen in WoW isn’t evidence that it’s caused by WoW.

Either way, Blizzard rarely responds to demands for acknowledgment or answers, but your best place to make those demands is in a forum they read: Bug Report. This one is just fellow players.

While you’re right that there’s no definitive evidence, it cannot be a coincidence that this happens to dozens of players using very different software/hardware and it only happens in wow and no other game to every single one of us. The chances of all of these pc’s made by different manufacturers having the same issue, while none of us encountering this issue in any other game whatsoever is so so thin that it’s practically impossible that this it isn’t at least somehow caused by wow.

Fellow players are usually the best ones to get answers from.

I have rolled back the Nvidia drive and that did not work.
Disabled all addons. Nope
Force DirectX11: Yes But framerate drops below 10 and is laggy.

Now we know what it’s not

Is your PC old and are you running AllTheThings?

Same thing here, for the last two months at least.

I don’t use any addons, so I don’t think it’s related to it.

I ended up forcing DirectX11, lowered some settings, and disabled the bottom two options (the new advanced ones). I have been able to play all day with no issues. It’s slightly laggy, but playable. Hopefully they will fix whatever is causing the issue. SOON.

Not old enough to be having these issues yet, bought it in 2020 i believe. No idea what AllTheThings is, so i assume im not using it.

Yeah, I did that too and it’s working. As you said, a little bit of lag, but it’s better than the bug. I hope they fix it soon, it’s been a while.

Something bought in 2020 could have hardware from 2016 in it. Things you buy today could have hardware from 2018. What hardware is it?

The re-rendering is actually a driver crash that was recoverable I am running February 13th NVIDIA drivers and have zero issues soon as I put the new ones on my machine my machine starts having GPU issues. Game ready drivers are just for the game that they mention in the description they’re not tested with any other game release versions of the drivers or actually tested with other games and software

i’m running the latest nvidia game ready driver, do you recommend i go back to that one? could you please tell me the patch number?

i5 9400
gtx 1650 super
16gb ram
windows 10

will def need an upgrade soon, but they shouldnt be old enough to be having these kind of issues though.

TL;DR: Your CPU is below the requirements for WoW but this is likely related to the GPU.

In this case, it seems the issue is more driver-focused, so I recommend following Northernlite’s advice above.

For future issues, keep in mind that the CPU launched in 2019 and the clockspeeds of all i5-9400 variants are just under the minimum 3.0GHz processor requirements for WoW. That doesn’t mean you can’t run WoW (obviously), but you might run into some hiccups that Blizzard may not be able to address.

I should’ve probably said that the issue is happening in mop classic, i don’t play retail anymore or barely do, so my CPU should be more than enough.

I see. Probably want to put in a WoW Classic Bug Report or give feedback in Mists of Pandaria Classic Discussion.
