True, I know the type lol
The only thing challenging, even talking about then, was always just the logistics of herding 25 cats. 40 in vanilla.
People were not as mechanically good back then, but most of the improvement has come via things like discord, and add-ons handholding to an extreme level.
Thereās no need to buff the encounters, just to satisfy some personās weird need to feel like they accomplished something amazing in a 15 year old game that has been largely solved.
And you get sh! t for gear. BELIEVE me bro I was OT all classic this time around. It was fun in terms of having to jump in and save the raid from wipes but @ss gear wise. No TF, no cool swords. You get the sh!tty threat Gen daggers and have to fight with the Fury warriors over loot.
Bruh, as a feral OT I got the stupid leather parry belt and my only shot at a DFT would be to outbid some gold buyer at a GDKP. I feel your pain.
Also, itās plain fun going from whatever dps you manage to jumping on an emergency, maybe saving the day if itās bad enough, having a funny story otherwise, seeing how long you hold threat once the MT wants it back, helping re-face the opponent(s), and then back to dps.
Not as fun is missing the emergency by a half second.
Or when your taunt, mocking blow and challenging shout all get resisted in a row
and then the RL asks you why youāre griefing the raid by not taunting lol
If classic TBC is anything like actual TBC, just got to be the GMs e-girlfriend, and DFT is guaranteed yours.
Tanks shouldnāt be fighting amongst ourselves. The real enemy is boss parries
Nice troll bait bro.
Disagree, I spent all of vanilla and TBC trying to convince guilds, with math, why they should let me tank as a bear. While winding up as a feral healer instead, and getting a birdās eye view of people needing to throttle damage to give the warrior any hope of holding aggro, and that inevitable oopsie when the warrior had a crush window, and got vaporized.
Paladins are okay guys though, they can join bears in the new order.
Either the melee were bad for attacking in the front or the warrior tank was bad for not using shield block on CD if those wipes were that common. It couldāve been a combination of both. Bears will do just fine as MT on most bosses (exceptions being gimmick bosses that screw them over) and are going to be the meta option for MT in T6 guaranteed and likely T5 as well because of their insane threat generation allowing dps to not have to hold back at all. Warriors have the best mitigation overall so they would be your best choice on progression, but they get DESTROYED for speedclears.
I mean I can feel you on the having to fight for your spot thing, but you got to let it go.
I was a feral offtank in a high end guild and I was useful. However, Iāll admit that we werenāt top tier. Fury prot w/ WBās was in a league of its own. I was happy to soak hatefuls, kite zombie chow, and punk out the warrior OTās on KT so I had a few cool things that were bear specific.
Prot warriors are good in TBC also, just not dominant. I think some warriors overstate how needed or good they are in TBC, but on the flipside I think some people underestimate them.
The best tank will mostly be determined by the player. And then thereās paladins with their stupid OP AOE shenanigans. Seriously, nerf those guys lol

Shut the hell up
Which is exactly why you wouldnāt use a Warrior. Because itās mediocre at best.
Extremely false.
This is the stupidest thing Iāve ever read in my life.
They generate the least amount of threat regardless.
Wrong.
Viability has nothing to do with optimization.
Except the bosses they cannot tank at all, while being basically the only good OT.
Rolling Feral Druid for MT is way less than optimal.
A talent that literally doesnāt exist.
Debatable, and even if this weāre true, Paladin can safely tank a much wider variety of enemies than Druid can in SWP.
Even if Druid were a better MT (hell no it isnāt), it would still be largely incapable of AoE tanking.
You are the dumbest person Iāve ever heard of.
Why, in gods name, how, would Feral Druids, EVER, E V E R, take less damage than a Paladin?
You are a league of misinformation above the worst posters Iāve ever even heard of.
Hereās a piece of advice for you, learn to accept the fact that no one is ever going to take your advice on anything. Itās a real good life lesson.
You seem upset
Iām happy fury prot will be dead. That spec ruined classic PvE for me.
No. Never.
On a side note, I really enjoy dealing with Karens. Itās my favorite pass time.
Warriors have 4% more damage reduction (10% from Defensive Stance) than Paladins (6% from Improved Righteous Fury) in addition to not needing to worry about getting enough block rating for pushing off crushing blows, so Warriors do take less damage with the exception of fast hitters.
Ignoring the fact that Paladins donāt realistically get Crushed, Ardent Defender says hello.
Paladins get 16% more Stamina from Talents while Warriors only get 5% more Stamina from Talents.
This on top of Paladins just flat out generating both more TPS and DPS.
Paladins can just flat out choose to roll Reckoning. They can simply choose to take more DPS or trade it off for more longevity whenever. Warriors cannot do that at all. They donāt have a Talent that allows them to double their auto attack damage. It doesnāt exist for them.
They actively need to sacrifice Stamina in order to increase Expertise. Paladins have access to this AND RECKONING. Itās not one or the other with them. THEY GET BOTH.
Without Reckoning, Paladins generate around 60% as many parriable attacks as a Warrior. In essence, they take less damage anyway.
I donāt see what the fuss is about.
Which is it?
Is it the HP?
Is it Longevity?
Is it the DPS?
Is it the TPS?
Which combination of these things do Prot Paladins need to do better than Prot Warriors for people to accept the fact that Prot Paladins are better?
This isnāt Vanilla. Itās not the same game.
Weird issue, dude.
