When you have people that genuinely just log on to the game just to play it. What do you expect? You think people just log into WoW just become toxic over night? No. It’s addons like this that breeds toxicity. How do you expect people to react when they’re added to these list? You expect them to be happy about it? No. Their time is being ruined over a very minor offense.
You don’t know me as a player or what I’m capable of just like I don’t know you. So I feel like this is more biased than anything else.
Wait till you discover that black balling exists in the professional world lol.

I can’t wait till this addon is removed from curseforge and then not ever get the support from blizzard. Bunch of discord mods acting like they’re blizzard employees in a game they either don’t play, don’t play on the server, or have a max character of. They literally base most of their information of he said / she said information and 99% of the time it’s completely biased to who the actual player is.
This player could be a noble dude, always loyal to his guild, always helping out other player in game, always contributing to the community, but as soon as they’re added to the blacklist. All that goes out of the window because of the minor offense they’ve committed.
The problem is that addons, or indeed, forum posts, such as this needs heavy handed moderation and verifiable proof of misdeeds to be worth a damned, otherwise it’s a toxic cesspool.
We’re not allowed to name and shame on the forums for the exact same reason.
If this addon was a forum post it’d be banned.
Last time I posted on my main about the blacklist. The Faerlina Police had no problem tagging me all over their discord calling me out for having an opinion about the blacklist. So now, I’m going to have an opinion, but I choose to remain anonymous this time. GL finding me now Faerlina PD.

I don’t think the addon is the problem to be honest.
If you got reported and action was taken against your account enough times to be muted in game for 8 months ( that is 9 different mutes over the life of the account which adds up to like a year and a half of being muted ) then I think you are just a toxic person no one wants to play with , talk to or interact with in any way shape or form.
Even if the addon was banned I would suspect most people on your server probably already have you on their in game /ignore list.
Being that it is a classic server your reputation to the people on it matters.

You do realize this character is no longer my main right? I quit playing my monk after BFA and jumped straight into classic upon release. I started out on Benediction horde before the server went full Alliance and transferred to Faerlina at the beginning of tbc. I’ve been here ever since, but I’m glad you remember to share an old post I made that is completely irrelevant to the topic itself.
I think it is relevant , it shows you as a player in general have a history of being a menace to other players and now they use an addon and a community discord to just ignore you and you don’t like it. They are well within their rights to not have to do any content with you , talk to you or engage.

Yes. This is a most serious offense. Extreme selfishness and disregard for 9 to 24 other people’s time. Should be more than a simple ban on your character by name, it should be a ban linked to your social security if only it were possible.

You should see how the mods on the Faerlina discord handle themselves. The court room will make you cringe.

They still got it done without me. Matter of fact. The raid leader kept whispering me trash talking me after I got my SR and bounced. He was toxic from the beginning and I all I really wanted to do was get my SR and leave anyways. I got what I rightfully SR’d and I didn’t feel like I needed to stay in that group any longer than necessary and left.
Yes you did. It’s why you were added to the blacklist. The list didn’t make you toxic, you were added to it because they already thought you were toxic.
I’m not sure what reaction I’m supposed to have to people dealing with the consequences of their behavior. This is a very basic concept we all have had to deal with since early childhood.
Again, you’re justifying your action which indicates you are not apologetic and that you’d absolutely do it again. Why would moderators remove you from their blacklist?
If you don’t see the philosophy in how this list breeds toxicity then you’re lost. Not every made becomes toxic right out of the gate and if you believe that. You need to do your research.

You’re taking what the addon said first and running with it. Exactly how am I suppose to be apologetic when I’ve already tried that? What else am I suppose to do other than accept what the Faerlina mods have labeled me as?
Just spend the 10 for a name change and move on

People can choose to believe an addon or another person for who they choose to group with. At the end if that source is not trustworthy other players wouldn’t trust it anyway, so your problem appears because people find that source trustworthy.
