I made my first blood elf priest to be like Sephiroth. Then I changed him to a void elf female! Lol. Sephyra. He was a shadowpriest, too bad priest couldn’t use swords so I had to use a long dagger instead.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but for me it comes down to a combination of proportions and faces among the a males of each race. It’s one of the things that attract me to the Thalassian Elves in WoW. Males of most other races are just no proportioned in a way I find aesthetically appealing and/or they have unattractive face options. The females of most WoW races tend to have good proportions and at least a few pretty face options so I tend to have more racial variety among my female characters than my male ones.

In FFXIV, Elezen are too lanky and their heads are too small. Hyur (both Midlanders and Highlanders) have good proportions and faces but they just don’t do it for me as far as a character I want to represent me goes. Roegadyn & Hrothgar are too big & Lalafell are too small. Au ra males are attractive but a bit tall and while I like the horns/scales on others, I don’t want them myself. Viera males (forthcoming!) are my cup of tea proportion-wise, and they have some good faces, but I’ve been a Miqo’te for so long I doubt I’d change at this point.

A lot of this but when I meet characters like Haurchefant (sp?) and Estinien (sp?) (being a DRG atm), it makes me wanna make an Elezen male lol, they have really nice faces

The right outfits and helm/hairstyle seem like they help offset the Elezen proportions and smaller head size.

i want it the way it looks! other than the bangs. not a fan of the arched bangs. but wouldnt it be awesome if blizz temporarily forgot they were in the business of making money and spent a few hundred million (apparently square enix did this) to pioneer a new hair engine for wow. haha.

Oh you know what! I found this image again in my bookmarks and while I suggested it for void elves, it TECHNICALLY could work for blood elf blood or anima theme, REALLY leaning into horror for thesePreformatted text folks.

I actually like the effect on his mouth, brings Hollows to mind, see?:

Though I suspect Forsaken players would be out for our blood if we got this kind of customization before them -and with good reason, they used to “own” the actual skeletal face option and they are waay more deserving of these kind of aesthetics than us-.

I don’t play ffxiv, and that comment is how I foresee Blood Elf being high on the character race sellection list when making a new Horde character.

/Also is that Sword that Male Blood Elf is wielding is that [Twinblade of the Phoenix] and is he a Furry Warrior?
