Logs dont Lie if they back up the player boom account action lifted.
To quote shadow hunters The law is tough but the Law if. It may seem harsh but thats what the apeals are for.
Some of them maybe all of them probably not and thats none of our buissness thats between blizzard and those affected.

Logs donāt tell the whole story if they are only looking into damage/healing logs.

If you look up in the thread youāll find a post of mine that is literally just linked to conversations from our SFAs about the matter. Itās not up for us to debate here, those are facts. Debate belongs on the other forums like the General Discussions or even in the PvP forums.
It is a team event. You were playing how you prefer to play in only defending towers. Your teammates disagree with it and reported you. If you disagree with how someone else is playing, you have the absolute right to report them. What comes of that report is up to the GM, again, based on data collected.

But, the logs show everything that a character is doing (or not doing), not just damage/healing stats. They also look at logs across BG history for behaviour patterns.

I am not disagreeing that he will have to appeal, and it most definitely should be overturned. I am stating that itās simply unacceptable policy to have it based on bans of the community when 90% of the people in AV have no idea how to actually play an AV so they report people who are doing objectives because they are clueless. Blizzard needs to review if the players areā¦
A. Moving
B. Defending an objective
C. Stuck because of poor map design and canāt get through the choke that hinders alliance only.
D. Check who is sitting on noob hill and ban them opposed to people who actually sit objectives.

Correct, I am replying to a previous comment that said they are going to look at damage and healing. So I am suggesting that they need to look at more and not base it strictly off of that.

Where is it said that damage and healing are the only things being looked at? They look at the collective data. The people who do these investigations know what to look for, contrary to what people like to believe.
If you feel like someone elseās playstyle isnāt what it should be, report them. Itās a team event. Not a group setting of 15 players each playing their own way. If all of the people slapped down today are because of defending towers and such? I think thatās a pretty clear indicator of how the game has changed and you need to develop a new strategy going forward. But thatās my own opinion there.
I do wish you and everyone else who has their appeals submitted luck with them, I sincerely do.

If you think not defending towers is an acceptable alternative to how a game is played when it is designed into the game to REWARD the player more honor, and make killing the final boss easier therefore WINNING then please tell me how this should be changed. No, I donāt think everyone getting these bans is doing this, but I think A LOT of them are and you are foolish to think otherwise.

Please re-read what I said. The player base has changed how they choose to play. The posts Iāve shared are from Blizzard staff posters in regards to how the staff has adapted to accept defending or tower sitting as non-participation.
The only opinion of mine I included was that the repeated sanctions going against that particular playstyle and the Blueās responses would be indicative of how one would need to change to adapt as well going forward. If you and all of these other folks are getting suspended for playing one way, then perhaps you should be adjusting your playstyle so that you donāt get in trouble going forward. That was the only thing I offered my opinion on. Not which is the proper way to play, one over the other.

I wasnāt suspended. Nice assumption because I choose to assume Blizzard makes more mistakes than what they get right as opposed to you. So in turn I actually defend these people who are doing objectives that in the end HELP ME AND THE TEAM. And I understand you are sharing blue posts. I am insinuating that blizzard needs to rectify and fix their rules then and stop suspending accounts for objectives THEY built into the game.

i hate to reply cause we are so off topic, what i think your failing to realize the strat has always and will continue to be, take towers, wait for 2 towers to fall, start final boss. this is clearly state most of the time at the start of every AV and is widely accepted as the most beneficial start for everyone in av.
at the start it was not and is not uncommon for the team to ask for 6-7 people to defend each tower to secure honor and wins. how would this be playing apart from the team when they are asking for defenders?
i understand where you are coming from and the topic the touched on but AV is not the metric to use it on. there is far to much out of 1 players control say to a WSG or AB.
This is kind of why these threads arenāt allowed on the forums. Too much speculation and potential for false information to make the rounds. Good luck on your appeal, OP.

For that then, I shall apologize. The majority of the posts coming in today are from those sanctioned.
For the rest, you are absolutely allowed to offer your support in wanting to defend folks and see this changed - but posting here will not accomplish that. No data, feedback or suggestions is gathered from this particular forum. This is actually the only forum that no staff comes to besides our SFAs.
If youād like to see changes, then post in the many threads cropping up in the General Discussions or PvP forums. Or you can submit it through the in-game suggestion/feedback interface. But here, this forum is for players to assist other players. Itās just a wind tunnel for trying to enact change, Iām sorry to say.

its not about having āenoughā damage, its about participation. The logs will show you actively doing things at the various stages of a bg run. Non participation will show you having no output for alot of the time or the whole time.

Iāll keep it short as well, but just to make it clear - it doesnāt matter in the slightest. Iām not saying that to be nasty or rude by any stretch of the imagination. PvP is not worth the headache for me to bother with for the most part. All Iām doing is trying to help offer what information - the facts - that I have as have been shared by the Staff.
What strategies are employed? That is a discussion for another forum. Not here. Iāve tried to not get into that bout with anyone, only shared what information I had from other posts previously. Like I told someone else with the last wave of sanctions a week ago - if one person reads the Blue posts and goes forward differently so that they themselves are not sanctioned? I will be happy.
For you guys currently caught up in it, all I can do is share the knowledge provided and wish you well with your appeals.
