There’s another thing, which might not have much to do with this situation, but we had already booked flights to Toronto. We’re all gathering there from different parts of North America, and my flight is tomorrow night. Some of our friends have already arrived in Toronto. We thought it would be really cool if we could run dungeons together while we’re there, but our resto shaman, the friend whose account got banned, can’t play now… So, we’ll have to find something else to do.
tyvm for the info, but i really don’t know what else i can do…
While I can understand wanting to be able to be hands-on working on a problem, in this case there’s nothing to be done but wait.
My account once received a reply saying that no matter how many appeals I made, the decision to permanently ban it would not be changed. But guess what? A few months later, Blizzard sent me an email telling me I could log in again.
We are contacting you regarding your World of Warcraft account, WOW2, which had been closed earlier this year.
An additional review of the account has identified new information which will allow us to restore access to the account. The previous restrictions have been lifted, and you are once again able to use this account.
We have added 90 Days of Game Time to your World of Warcraft account so that you may jump right in to The War Within.
Nothing, I understand you don’t like that answer, and I don’t mean that in a rude way. It’s just the fact of the matter. Your concern for your friend is admirable but in all honesty, there is nothing you can say in the forum that will change the fact that the only help for your friend is between them and the appeals team.
Found a blue post on this.
Thanks for understanding, but it’s really frustrating. The account that was just created two weeks ago has already been banned, and I can say with absolute certainty that nothing was done that violated the rules.
That is interesting. I cannot say that I know what would cause such a change, presumably either a policy change or a widespread issue, perhaps one of the blues could offer more insight into that in the AM?
I can definitely understand that. I do hope it is resolved soon and wish you the best
I’ve seen this before, but what’s interesting is that the last time I was banned, someone from my guild was actually contacted by an official on this forum and got unbanned quickly.
From my experience, what ever criteria they used for the ban had shifted either they identified a error and attempt to correct the mistakes.
I see what your attempting, your hoping that by bringing your friends problem here you might get it pushed up so that you can do dungeons in a day or so whilst on a meet up somewhere. You’re pushing your own agenda here. Tell him to wait til he gets a response and if it’s upheld re appeal until they they won’t accept any further tickets and threaten closure of account for gm abuse.
my account is around 15 yrs old, my friends as well. non of us willing to take risk and do something prohibited. we all middle aged men, and those wow accounts are already beyond just a game. But we truly can not agree with what blizzard done during this period.
yes, that’s 100% what he doing now, and he also filled up the ticked regarding his old account.
The fact is that it doesn’t matter how old the account is it does not matter if it’s a day old account or a 20 year account. We are all bound by the same rules that blizzard have set out. We agree to them every update.
yes, they said we all rmt… but how?
Well, the Guild name of the person who made the thread is Golden Turtles GDKP
GDKP is no longer allowed in some versions of WoW and results in a ban for RMT/Abuse of the economy.
Could that be related to the bans?
Getting large ammount of gold from a lvl one toon that can be trace to gold selling. Unless im mistaken apeals are sitting at a week.
Look botom line friend will have to create a new account and apeal themselves referencin there btag.
We honestly have given all the advice we could. Anything more that is said from this point forward is going to play out like this.
You: we are innocent.
Us: Cool, your friend needs to let the appeals system do it’s thing.
Then rinse and repeat. We aren’t trying to be cruel. But that is the ONLY option available to your friend. And I truly wish them best of luck. You as well for that matter.
No, not this guild. and even though, the guild was in wow classic. it’s been over a year we weren’t log in… and this is a new wow account, wow4 i believe.
Understand, tyvm!!! we will do it!
