Kirin Tor. Magus Senate in our old tongue. For centuries, the city of Dalaran has served as a beacon for the magical minded and the innately curious. From all walks of life gather the men and women of the Kirin Tor. Alone, we were separate and without purpose. Together we stood to create a shining beacon of a state. A city whose might rivals that of the greatest human nations. The Kirin Tor was created to catalog every spell, curse and incantation known to Azeroth and beyond. All who gathered within Dalaran came for peace and prosperity and to sate the hunger for knowledge that is inherent to all sentient beings. All under the ever watchful Violet Eye.
Dalaran might be gone, but the Kirin Tor isn’t. The Magus Senate of Dalaran (MSOD) is alive, organized, and stepping into a new chapter. We’re rebuilding—not a city in the clouds, but a living fellowship of mages who carry forward the Eye’s purpose: knowledge, unity, and vigilance.
Who are we now?
The Senate has shifted from being tied to one place to being everywhere. We’ve got:
- Circles – regional branches that cover all of Azeroth (and beyond). Whether it’s the intrigue of Stormwind, the ruins of Lordaeron, or the frontiers of Northrend and Outland, each Circle has its own flavor and an Archon leading it.
- Rings – our functional pillars, cutting across every Circle:
• Research for magical discovery and archives
• Security for defense, field ops, and spellguards
• Policy for diplomacy and counsel to kings, clans, and councils
• Training to keep apprentices climbing the ranks - The Senate itself – every member, from Apprentice to Archmage, has a seat and a vote. The Violet Council and Grand Magus steer the ship, but it’s a collective body where voices matter.
What do we actually do?
- Regular Senate meetings in new, atmospheric RP spots (since Dalaran itself is rubble).
- Circle missions rooted in real Warcraft lore: dealing with magical threats (cough the void), countering cults, dealing with arcane fallout.
- D20-based events that mix research, diplomacy, and combat. Enough structure to be fun, but always room for creativity.
- Rank ascensions and rituals inspired by the Arcanomicon – these feel weighty, not “you leveled, grats.”
Why join?
If you’ve ever wanted your mage to be part of the Kirin Tor in a way that feels like it, this is the guild. We’re not just slapping purple robes on and calling it done; we’ve built a system that feels like stepping into the continuation of Dalaran’s legacy. There’s room for political roleplay, field missions, magical study, or just showing up to Senate and shaping the direction of the group.
We’re opening the doors now. If you’re looking for a mage guild that’s structured, immersive, and alive with story, we’d like to meet you.
(Disclaimer: We do not accept Demon Hunters or Death Knights. Warlocks are accepted on a case-by-case basis.).
