There was a bug relating to that that I believe was recently fixed.
Can post in the Website Bug Report section and see if they can help you out.
I can understand the desire to head-off people trying to derail what you’re saying with attacks on your achievements, but really, you’re not preventing that by hiding your profile. You’re just changing the derailment from being about your achievements (or lack of), to being about the fact that your profile is hidden.
Better to remember that this is a gaming forum on the internet and doesn’t matter much in the grand scheme, and learn to expect and plan for such attacks. Just because I’m not a mythic raider doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion on the state of raiding in general, and I think it’s important for people to hear that.
Bottom line is, trolls gonna troll. They only have as much power as you give them.
Log out then log back in. I had that same issue and it cleared it up
I don’t care if people see my armory, but I did hide my profile just so people can’t nose around in it.
EDIT: I believe that is same fix for view profile not showing up

you can’t hide profiles, you can only hide activity, show me one person who has their armory unaccessible.

all you gotta do is go to worldofwarcraft.com and type in the name.
like i said, show me 1 person that you can’t access their armory.

You’re missing the point. When you hide stuff through the forum preferences it hides everything. Most people know you can’t actually hide your armory from an actual search
there is no difference, activity just shows what the poster is posting about. it gives no indication (unless thoroughly screened) of the alts of a player.
Click your picture. Go to preferences. Interface. Hide my forum presence

Except that their armory doesn’t support your claim at all. They have lots of low difficulty bosses killed (normal, LFR, entry bosses of heroic that may as well be normal or LFR), but they do not have hundreds of kills on the bosses that people sell. Unless they were foolish enough to purchase those kills and even I will give them the benefit that they aren’t that silly.
As far as trolling, no. You are giving them far too much credit. They struggle with any content that has a hint of difficulty and their profile and achievements reflect that. Their posts about things being overtuned, when they are not, are genuine reflections of their inability to play at a basic level allowing them to overcome rote challenges in this game.
And let me say this right now. Hiding your activity isn’t a show of cowardice, nor is showing it a sign of strength, its about letting people see what you post, how often you post, how often you are on, and what you say word for word.
I kinda think of it as a journal, its an exercise of discretion should you choose to hide it. Nothing to be ashamed of.
and pointing out people that do hide it and troll others is not a bad thing, the people trolling is bad. Hiding activity doesn’t give protection against their lack of achievements, it only gives protection to their activity, which, ladies and gentlemen, you can still track down if you had the mind to do so.
