If they’re speaking as if they have knowledge, then who are you to refute them? To avoid responding to their point because they don’t have an exalted rep on one of their alts with a certain faction or because they didn’t meet your personal standards of how “good at PVP” they are, yes, you are guilty of ad hominem. You don’t get to change the definition.

Where did I say that? o_O I said being anonymous does not automatically mean you’re NOT credible.

Who’s “we?” Got a mouse in your pocket? And do you really think some random person on the internet not thinking I’m good is going to make me feel bad? :rofl: You’re sorely mistaken. However, being anonymous isn’t because people are going to get hurt, it’s for the very reason I said… to prevent you from making up some foolish reason to discredit rather than respond to an actual point.

Meh, who cares if you get your panties in a wad over forums over a game… I would suggest not get on the internet…

Now with that being said I fall into the camp where you should only be able to post on one toon.

Because I honestly think that would help a little bit of the trolling on these forms…

Quite honestly, I have never given much credence to posters using ‘git gud’, as it is far, far, far too often used to simply dismiss issues people are having or problems that actually exist in the game.

You think no one can find you. Trust me. in military days the word anonymous was seen as a joke. Any competent hacker could trace someone through the web in mater of a few hours. Just through chat logs. Not sure on how. Not my area. I did ask friend once if he know of a way. when I had a pesky forum follow me. next day gave me full details on the guy. not kidding. Look up and see.

I hide mine because it shouldn’t matter precisely to undercut that “git gud” chorus because they are usually 99% wrong, but will find some small item to nitpick.

Man the early morning people on these forums are bananas.

I don’t usually wake up this early, but I couldn’t sleep so I popped in to read a bit. Every thread is laced with words like “flaggable”, “insulting”, “triggered”, “aggressive”, etc.

You all do know that millions of living things are experiencing real suffering every second of the day, right? These tiny little forum squabbles are mindblowingly stupid.

I’ve got that bug - I’m really not trying to hide my profile. I’ve tripled checked the checkbox in settings to make sure it’s public.

What’s -really- weird is that even -I- don’t get the View Profile link for me.

No offense taken. I’ve been on the internet for… 25ish years and I’ve ran into people who were obsessed with me (usually someone who cannot stand losing a debate) but nobody who went that far. The worst thing anyone’s done in this game were getting so mad that they made an alt on my server to send me a threat via in-game mail.

But they can’t really hide their Armory profile. Just hover over their name and do it manually if you really need to snoop.

No, I’ve said it before that he’s a master troll and most people don’t even seem to realize they’re getting rolled by him. At one point in Legion I looked at his armory and he had hundreds of raid bosses killed. I doubt anyone has the gold to buy that many carries
