Since early this morning I have been unable to use any of the actions listed in the title. I play Season of Discovery on Wild Growth. Every time I try to perform any of those I get the message “This action is currently restricted” or something very close. When I created a ticket about this I received what appears to be an automated message pointing me to an article about penalizing accounts, be it for gameplay sabotage, cheating, and things of that sort.
I have seen many threads on the forum for people with the same issues who speculate that it may be a temporary restriction from being exposed to some sort of duping or incursion bugs. I can’t think of anything I have done that would be considered an abuse except for having an bank alt, but i know many people who use alts as banks.
Can someone please tell me what the issue with my account is? It almost feels like any information on account issues is relayed to us as vaguely as humanly possible. Needless to say, I do not see myself playing again since I am crippled from interacting with any other players in an MMORPG.
As I mentioned, I received a message on my ticked directing me to the page focused on abuse-related activities. If this was a bug, why aren’t they just coming out and letting us know. That way I can at least keep playing knowing that it will eventually be fixed.
The Customer Support forum serves as an Information Desk to help people navigate support, explain policies, explain services, etc.
It is not staffed 24 hours and they can only provide what info they have from the Devs, if they devs give them any, when they are here. I would keep an eye on the launcher in case a message gets pushed to that about a widespread bug, or the CS twitter. Those might have something eventually.
Being a weekend night, I would not expect anything right this second.
Posting here will not see it handled by anyone period, though. Customer Support has no involvement with the game itself, and only provide updates when development deems it appropriate.
One purpose of the forum is to serve as an Information Desk. If there are active known issue the Blues can usually say something - if they have info on it. They can’t fix it because they are not QA, and not Devs, you are right. They do provide info though if they have any.
No, that’s not how it works. Developers rarely post on the forums because they’re too busy working on the game, sometimes around the clock IF emergencies arise. The teams that handle bugs are likely shift work.
SFAs and CMs are not developers and generally have alloted business hours. They will likely have messages to forward when they’re back in the office.
We don’t have wow tokens. What time was the fix applied? My friend made a brand new account last night and now has it as well, so it’s apparently reoccurring.
I’m providing this as you can look up the time stamp of the character creation. This was made exceptionally late last night EST, which I’m doubting falls within the same time frame of this fix.
I appreciate the acknowledgement of it, though I wish I saw this prior to logging in and restarting the timer. This is wide impacting, you may want to post this information in a SOD oriented forum.
Orlyia is not a Dev or any part of their team to make those kinds of announcements. She and the other SFAs are primarily on this forum. They can share what information has been shared with them, but that’s a different beast than going and making official postings and the like.
Free game time extremly rare unless it’s bordering weeks id hardly call 12 hrs a inconvienice. They had realms shut down for 24hrs to prep the game for expac launches and wod was a mess due to a massive ddos campaign. Waiting sucks but not the end of the world.
