How do we report people who abuse Kicking from group for no reason. I recent got Kicked from a group even after stating I had never done the particular dungeon before in a LFG group. Now stuck with a deserter debuff. How does blizzard and players hope for people to learn encounters if we have immature kids abuse this system?
Thatâs unfortunate, but the kick system is on a voting basis.
Blizzard wonât make a party keep a member they donât want to play with.
Essentially groups are allowed to decide to remove you, no reason is required.
So basically you have people who abuse new or returning players instead of explaining a mechanic for a dungeon in your LFR system. Really broken and highly abusable sysytem that will prevent new and returning players from learning encounters and dungeons
More like an occasional inconvenience, but that itâs working as intended is the opposite of broken.
It also canât be abused because kicking people does incur cooldowns that just keep increasing until an unpublished reset duration transpires.
Any ideas or suggestions you have for changes to how it currently works youâd want to post over in the Dungeons, Raids, and Scenarios forum.
So I did nothing wrong, other than not knowing a mechanic and being open and honest about it, stating as soon as the dungeon started I didnt know this one and I get punished. No not working as intended.
You may rightfully be unhappy with the result, but it IS working as it was designed to.
It takes only majority vote into consideration.
And neither did they.
No, you got a debuff. The same debuff that everyone gets when they leave a group for any reason.
It actually is working as intended, and the reason it works like this is to guard against players trying to work around the debuff. Instead of trying to play arbiter on which reasons are ârightâ or âwrongâ, it simply applies equally to everyone, regardless of reason.
Unfortunately some people just want to speed run a dungeon as fast as they possibly can and donât want to wait for folks who donât know how the dungeon works. Neither side is in the wrong and neither side should be forced to play together and have it be a miserable experience for everyone.
Iâm really sorry you encountered this and hopefully your next run goes smoother.
In case you didnât know, Follower Dungeons are a fantastic new addition and all TWW dungeons offer this mode. You can lead or have an AI bot do the leading and learn the general layout and mechanics of a dungeon in a no pressure environment. You can queue for them from the drop down dungeon selection tool in LFG.
Sorry to hear this happened to you. As soon as cross-faction comes out, Iâd be happy to help you out (but for now, horde, alliance, and I donât have a full group to premake lol).
Unfortunately, as others have noted, Blizzardâs stance is that if a simple majority clicks âyes,â their will goes. Thereâs no penalty for them kicking for any reason or no reason. Only MMO Iâm aware of that actually enforces not being toxic in kicking folks is FFXIV.
Playing with others means having done a bit of homework sometimes so that you are ready for the adventure and can hold your own in it. That means learning your class mechanics, learning the dungeon layout, and being familiar with boss fights.
There are several great resources in game to teach you those things!
- The Adventure Guide will tell you about each Dungeon and boss
- Follower Dungeon Mode in the group finder lets you do the dungeon by yourself with AI followers. You can take your time at your own speed, learn the dungeon layout, learn the pack pulls, learn the boss fights, practice your class mechanics.
Outside of game there are also more resources like guides for each Dungeon and boss on Wowhead, and Youtube videos.
If you find yourself unsure of something, start with those. The Follower Dungeons are also great for doing any quests so that you donât have to side track from a group.
I never go into a dungeon with people I donât know without knowing the basics of what is going to happen and what Iâm required to do. There are resources both in game, The Adventure Guide, and resources outside of game, Wowhead and Youtube, where you can read about mechanics and watch videos of the dungeon prior to going in.
Not to mention follower dungeons now.
I have found that some people expect newer players to know things they may not know yet. Some donât know the adventure guide exists or wowhead, etc. That is why i always try to help new players in my groups.
I think sometimes people have expectations of normal queued dungeons that better fit into higher end content someone not knowing a mechanic in a normal dungeon is rarely going to wipe a group.
Youâll find some groups are less supportive then others in LFG, but iâve found the understanding ones far outweigh the ones quick to kick a new player.
Follower dungeons or have a group of friends/guild mates to help you learn.
I feel vote kick is being used as a griefing tool.
Im sure its original intent was afk/disconnect only. People are trolling the feature cause they think its funny to slap a 30 min debuff on someone.
Vote kick is being abused. Perhaps install some anti grief feature on it?
And how do you propose doing that? They already have a cooldown between kicks that gets increasingly longer the more you kick, so youâll want to constructively offer other ideas in the Dungeons, Raids, and Scenarios forum.
Surely not by cluttering the UI with a list of any possible âvalidâ reason.
Itâs not. Players are not forced to keep anyone in their group that they do not want. Their reasoning doesnât matter.
No, that is not the original intent. The intent was to give players to ability to remove a player they do not want in their group. Their reasoning doesnât matter.
It is not. Players are not forced to group with anyone they do not want. Their reasoning doesnât matter.
And force four other players to keep you around when they donât want you to be there? Sorry, no. Your gameplay is not more important than four other players.
They are not forced to take you along if they do not want to. Their reasoning doesnât matter.
So some troll can put in a trollololol as a kick reason laugh that you got kicked and got 30 mins debuff.
Your right it is working as intended as a troll feature. Bitter truth but someone has to say it.
Hello Julaalu,
If you have a suggestion you wish to make for the game, you can do it in game: Game Menu::Support::Submit Feedback. Or you can start a post in the General forums. Input is collected for the devs from either of those.
