Just have 10m as the base and go from there.
Youâre not wrong. it would definitely be more work.
I think it would ultimately be worth it though, as it would allow a lot of guilds that struggle to maintain a 20-25 person rosterâand those that prefer smaller groups for a variety of reasonsâraid in mythic without near to as much of a hassle.
I think the content should be whatâs difficult, not the roster. Fighting the roster boss isnât gameplay, itâs an annoyance.
Looking at Warcraft Logs, only 26 guilds have even cleared the current raid. With only ~3500 folks even defeating the first boss of the raid in general.
Participation is down, way down. Making Mythic more accessible seems like a no brainer otherwise, whatâs the point? Itâs content that isnât even being completed for the most part.
Hell, Heroic has only been cleared by ~1500 guilds. So raiding in general needs some sort of boon.
Raiding is also suffering under the same restrictions of 15 years ago, while other forms of content (notably M+) are much more generous.
Doubling the number of loot drops from all raid difficulties would be a good start. They needed to do that in BfA; they reduced the number of drops, instead. Then they wonder why fewer people are raiding, these days.
Weekly lockouts should also be on the discussion table.
Mythic end spreadsheet bosses are another issue.
And for godâs sake, reduce the amount of trash. Good lord.
If they want that much trash to add to the atmosphere of the raid, they need to add healthy BoP raid drops that come from that trash. I still donât know what the problem was with Castle Nathria raid drops and why they felt it needed to be nerfed.
Oh no! Folks can make gold from participating in a raid how awful :((
The notion that any subset of players engaging in the hardest raid difficulty setting as being any type of âmajorityâ or significant amount of people is laughable.
The forums quickly spun it as âBlizzard forcing token sales and p2w with all the BoEs! They are greedy corporate monsters who only care about selling tokens!â
The trash would be fine if they just cut its health by 2/3. On all difficulties.
They want a bunch of mobs to make the raid look busy, fine. Make them actual trash mobs that can just get plowed over, though.
People lust on the trash and then pull the boss to reset lust afterwards.
People invis pot through the trash because it takes too long.
^^^ These point to a serious design flaw.

Itâs why we canât have nice things. Those BoEs are the only reason I had 100k gold for once

So Iâve mostly been playing TBC after season 1 this expansion, but this was the exact issue that happened in SSC/TK. The mobs had so much HP that folks got less and less enthused to do the raid because of how long it takes to get from one boss to the next. So when the trash finally got nerfed (and the bosses as well but ignore that bit) folks were complaining about how fast the trash was dying. Iâm over here like, well who cares? Weâre playinâ to kill the bosses, and I guess reduce their underling numbers, but weâre mostly here for the bosses. SSC/TK patch was rough dude, lot of burn out. MH/BT are so much faster with trash clearing.
I dipped my toes inâŠSanctum? LFG and lemme tell you, that was a hellva lotta trash. I couldnât imagine doing that in higher difficulties lmao
Imagine if they brought it back and then the game culture optimizes the mode (as they naturally will) so much that the already memed specs get extra friends on the bench.
10 man mythic would lead to the vast majority of spec/classes being excluded, and water the game down drastically. It is not a good fix.
I think this actually is a case where the proposed solution creates more problems than it solves.
Some specs already get less favored in mythic plus and we still have mythic plus. If your spec isnât wanted they say, go make your own group! I could find 10 people today. I could not find 20 people.

Who cares if that happens? Thatâs on the raid team to figure out at that point.
Uhm, the vast majority of mythic raiders who donât want to be forced to only play DH as melee for the magic debuff, disallowing all other melee, is a GREAT example of âwho caresâ.
Players who mythic raid care, as we all enjoy our class for various reasons.
5 person raids

Ok, then join the groups that wouldnât care? Itâs flex raiding. Join the group doing 20m.
There are going to be 38 Specs in Dragonflight. How do you keep them unique in a 10 man environment?
One slot goes to Lust so Shammy, Mage and/or Hunter are always there.
One slot (at least) goes to B-Rez so Lock, Druid and/or DK are needed.
Then you have Fort, Chaos Brand, Mystic Touch, Battle Shout, Arcane Int, Windfury, Power Infusion, etc.
Blizz would still need to balance Mythic Raiding with the expectation that all those Buffs are available so the only answer is homogenization.
Raiding as a whole needs a revamp but shrinking the hardest difficulty down to 10 isnât the answer IMO. Loot drops, Mechanics and time to clear are three of the largest problems right now.
those dont exist
Not a single CE team in the top 500 would even remotely do anything besides that, this is the game. If you do not care about CE/progression, why do you care if it requires 20? The 20 man requirement is not holding you back, or anyone else.
