“ Necroing” on the WoW forums

Title.

I think it’s about the dumbest rule I have ever read in my life. Who came up with this? I get insane asylum vibes tbh with this “rule”.

I have posted about this so many times - What if an innocent person Google’s something from the God awful WoW forums and responds to an old thread and gets reported?! They have no idea until it’s probably too late, absolute rubbish. It is also so pathetic for someone to report someone who does so, imo.

I have seen a GM lock some more threads the last few months but they should have a set time for all threads and it automatically locks for the weird rules set forth. This is like basic 101.

Hope y’all have a good one :blue_heart::bear:

Aren’t you one of the people who regularly spam neceo multiple threads at a time?

It’s always funny when a serial offender of a rule cries about the rule.

It’s usually because those conversations are long past and usually outdated. Just make new thread.

They shouldn’t let people comment on old topics in the first place. The other messed up part is that in some forums they don’t want people making new topics but to post in topics already made.

It’s because Blizzard don’t like Necromancers. Once upon a time the most requested class on the forums. Blizzard truly did their best to kill it off.

Yes, because it is fun and I also am trying to prove a point that it’s bad with how it is currently set up.

Only someone who needs major inner workings would be bothered by it.

I just mute them.

no idea but im going to necro this post some day.

Why is it fun?

Blizzard made this rule. Because most of the old threads that get necro’d are irrelevant, or old information.

Necro’ing threads are not allowed, even if you think you have a valid reason to post. See the quotes above.

Necroing threads IS allowed…IF YOU PROVIDE INFORMATION RELEVANT TO THE POST.

is NOT a legitimate reason to necro old threads, and you know this.

Again, I cant be a mod, cuz you woulda been banned wholly.

Most of the Blizzard forums auto-lock if a post goes a while without a response - 30 days? 60 days? Something like that.

It’d solve the problem without people needing to complain if they implemented that here, but I guess actually solving the issue would make some people rest too well or something.

Because most of the time it’s very old, outdated and inaccurate information that is completely irrelevant to the current state of the game.

TBH They should set these treads like they have them in the Classic forums. They should automatically lock after 30 days of no responses.

The EU forums also has it.

Be banned “wholly”. That is wild to me. I wish you well.

I was reading the other night (do not quote me on this) that it takes twenty years to build a reputation and only five minutes to ruin it?! Wow. That is so pathetic as humans because we all mess up - and no, I am not talking about something like necroing on the internet. It makes me never want to try with another human again.

The older I get the more disheartening I find himans to be as a whole, this includes myself at times. We’re such a virus. It’s so easy to judge others but we’re all guilty of doing crap.

Our inability to communicate is disheartening as well. If only we all healed more emotionally and physically and could be a better society and more empathetic.

I’ll get off of my soap box now. :v:t2:

Whats wild to me is, people constantly expect to not get punished for breaking rules. Its sad.

Sometimes rules are meant to be broken especially if you’re dealing with a dictator and their personal circus that they try to make others conform to.

Rules are literally made to be followed. Its why they are called rules. Jeeze.

No. There is no excuse for necroing old threads for the sole purpose of proving some moronic point.
