Yeah tell that to the gms losing to printf, clown
Keep making excuses instead of practicing. It’s 100% a L2P issue.
Yeah tell me one terran or zerg that is famous for cheesing every match (and the enemy knows that) and is playing at gm level. L2P doesn’t solve bad design. Only makes the player base smaller and with more protoss players
Bly.
Also MarineLorD won recently Bo5 3:0 vs Vanya in total of 17:40 in-game time. That’s was an interesting match.
Btw. Bly vs Has is a beautiful match-up. Almost as beautiful as Reynor vs Clem.
You’re not losing because toss imba or zerg op. You’re losing because of your mistakes. If you want to improve you need to accept that
Extremely frustating mechanics and easy-to-use deathballs on average leagues and below.
The fact that Protoss can cheese everything and make it work shows how badly is their design. Knowing how hated is PvP I think not even Protoss likes to fight themselves.
Most toss players only win because of their broken race. cheese here cheese there. Even if you know its coming good luck stopping it.
Even if you know its coming good luck stopping it.
I could say the same about all players who go 2 base all-in (you can actually get Diamond with that) and don’t know anything outside it ^^
Cannon rushes seem to be most popular cheese on the ladder, because it indeed is easiest nicely effective tactic in the game. But what other types of Protoss actions count as cheese? Double adept attacks? All proxy strategiest? Oracles made in Protoss’ main?
I probably need to check definition of cheese.
Also fun fact:
Disruptors made me to lose as many games as I won thanks to them in gold/platinum, so at some point I just stopped building them for being ineffective.
You can do all ins. you can do macro games. and then there is protoss cheese.
You could call cheese doing something high risk high reward that is outside of the norm.
For example. Zerg proxy hatch for rush/ravenger perhaps ling/bane bust
This can also be a proxy factory landing in your base for hellion/mines.
Perhaps bunker rush. If you fail these rushes you most likely lose or there is a very good chance you are behind and baring mistake you will lose. Not to say you cannot over come failing these cheeses
Then you have toss cheese. I will cannon rush you and if the cheese fails meh. I was macroing behind it any way perhaps I proxy stargate and if I fail meh. so what I marcoed behind it. If I proxy Robotics facility and fail. meh. I macroed behind it. if anything toss comes out of failing these cheese on even grounds.
Toss cheeses are low risk high reward. and they are hard to stop because of shield battery forrest. And that lies half of the problem in PvX. Becuase of the risk of these safe cheeses that toss has you have to approach the PvX match up differently than you would all of the others.
in PvX you are scouting for cheese. You have to let toss take the lead. in PvT you have to wait for toss to through their base down before you throw yours down. you have to see what they are building first and react to it. It is rare that toss has to react to anything that you are doing. Which is another problem in the match up.
In TvT or TvZ if you get out marcroed or out played gg. I’ll get you next time. In PvT its good job warping in 20Zs in my base. or good job with that shield battery forrest. good job with that cannon rush. good job toss. your voids were emaculant. you did well with that bull that you just pulled off.
I go watch a game of Bly vs Reynor…zvz game 1- hatch into pool
zvp game 2 vs Mana pool into hatch
ZvT game 1 vs Kelazhur StarCraft 2: NEXT-LEVEL ZERG VS TERRAN! (Bly vs Kelazhur) - YouTube
Dude Bly is not what I was describing. And marine lord is a very good macro terran
Printf has been getting almost 6k NA mmr, being in top 16, doesn’t use barcodes and people knows he will cannon rush and he still wins.
Protoss destroys the laws of RTS that is why it is not fun. There is no defenders advantage vs Protoss, one units acts as a map editor, disruptors have the potential to instantly end the game, same with storm, and you have gimmicks like blink that just allow you at all time to just ignore terrain and defenders advantage. It just isn’t fun. Unlike Terran and Zerg every attack isn’t an allin, when Protoss attacks its always do or die since all their units get teleported to the front.
Why does it feel worse to lose against protoss?
You were ahead in every way, played perfectly by comparison to the sloppy play of the Protoss, then lose because the Protoss 1a’s his army; knowing full-well that if he were playing a different race, the game would’ve been an easy victory.
because the race is broken and requires heavy nerfs.
I would say not “heavy nerfs” but complete redesign:
- remove warp-ins but make gateway units stronger
- lock forge behind gateway - no more cannon rush
- remove disruptors completely and make colossus stronger
these are few examples what i would change in protoss
Removing the warp-in is the same as asking to remove the injection from the zergs or the reactor from the terrans, what is the use of making the colossus stronger, if EMP remains broken and Disruptors are the only things we have to face them, and how will protoss deal with Lurkers, Roaches Ghosts and Thors, without the Disruptors? Canon I do not care to be made after having a Gateway, because it is too strong in PvP, PvZ and PvT is possible to defend. There is no point in inventing nerfs because you play badly or making excuses, improve your game, Protoss is a very difficult race that requires a lot of skill with each unit and the right technological decisions, we don’t have a replacement and quick transition like the zergs, we also don’t have a strength of harass as of the terrans, DT needs to focus on the workers, adept too, oracle too, no and just leave the liberator there and ready, or drop some mines there and blow up everything, or drop Marines de Medivacs in 3 places and look at 1 or 2 while the protoss has to micrar us 3 to defend. You look at the navel itself, but all races have their difficulties.
There are ways around Ghosts, Roaches and Thors, I don’t find it a problem (maybe with exception for Thors, they say Immortals counter them, but no longer Immortal can 1v1 Thor, and Thors have really decent damage).
However, lurkers are going to be difficult.
Perhaps another Void Ray decrease cost and supply (hehe ^^) should be involved to decrease cost/risk with transition to air. Or bonus shield to stalkers after blink. Both are bad ideas, because would influence PvT too much.
Still better to do redesign than to erase disruptor from the game.
And redesign will not happen.
A race so OP it has the worst tournament results of all three races throughout the history of SC2 and hasnt had a player win a premier tournament since August 2019.
So OP that Toss hasnt won a GSL since Jan 2015.
So OP that Toss hasn’t won a Blizzcon since 2015 (I believe… maybe even earlier).
So OP that Toss hasnt won a major European only tournament since… well definitely since 2018. Likely even before that but maybe Neeb did in 2017.
So OP that on Aligulac right now it is just barely under 50% PvT (49.98%) and 47.62% in PvZ.
So OP that that people on these forums (not talking about you hidden account smurf guy) cannot reach a higher peak MMR with Protoss despite claiming it is severly imbalanced in PvZ and PvT. Actually failing miserably.
Examples? Cheesetown quit after going like 3-7 and getting placed in SILVER LEAGUE. Then claiming he “never tried”. He also claimed PvZ was easy. Peek long claimed he would easily get masters with Easy mode Protoss. He recently got M1 in Terran but his Protoss MMR is in Diamond 2 range (though he claims he did get to D1 but his MMR fell). I got a higher peak MMR in Zerg than I ever had with Toss with maybe 40 or 50 games (much much less than I have played with Toss). Does that mean Zerg is easy? NO!
All of these topics are full of strawman garbage arguments. The facts dont support any of your biases.
This is factually incorrect. Toss has won the most tournaments in 2020. They win fewer tournaments in Premier events but that nothing to do with balance since A) there are so few premier events and B) the premier events are heavily biased by the region lock (which basically bans the worlds best protoss from the majority of premier events).
So what we have here is PPP trolls pointing to tournaments where the best Protoss are banned from even participating, while ignoring that they dominate all the other tournaments so hard that, even being banned from premiers, they still win more.
How do you win more tournaments despite having fewer opportunities? It’s called severe imbalance.
Ok… prove it. They have won zero premier tournaments. Do you dispute that?
