Thanks. As I expected, it wasn’t hard, and the revenue is dumpster tier. I got my 80 average viewers and clocked out. You know, just to prove it could be done. I wanted to reach 80 average viewers and be net positive for the investment, and both those objectives were achieved.
The bonuses included beating snake numerous times with a variety of meme build including a queen walk; beating numerous gm terrans with a variety of proxy and macro swarm host builds; beating gms from all three races with 2 base hydra; beating gms from all three races without queens; beating gm terrans with 1 base mutalisk, 2 base ultralisk; beating gm protoss with mass corruptor; the list goes on and on. Eventually it became boring, like everything else, and I started doing more and more ridiculous builds. I landed on a 1 base hive rush and lost hundreds of mmr points to only manage to beat a single gm terran with it (called Goober).
APEtoss, stream snipers, random build orders, artificial constraints, ludicrous win objectives, reading the twitch chat, and I still held GM ranking until I started working on the 1 base hive rush. If that doesn’t prove that SC2 isn’t a strategy game -it’s a multitasking game- then nothing does.
I almost beat 4gg and supernova with proxy swarm host. I have beaten 5800 mmr terrans with that build, and I really wanted to beat one on stream, but wasn’t lucky enough to manage it. They did make for good games, though. I ran into jason only once. I tried a macro swarm host build against his bio and he just hit a sharp tank timing right as I was making tech investments and I died. I used to have a 60% win-rate against that guy, but I am not willing to do standard builds on repeat like a robot. Standard play in SC reminds me of autistic children watching the same TV show over and over again. It’s like, we’ve seen this episode a hundred times and they are still on the edge of their seat waiting to see what happens next. Pro players are still doing the same marine based unit comps with the same micro and tactical maneuvers with no significant change to the strategy in probably 5 years. Jason was actually the reason I stopped caring about SC2. I went from a 60% winrate to a 20% winrate overnight due to the tankivac and I was like NOPE I am not playing this dumpster fire anymore. I have to solute any zerg that played professionally during that era: they have the mental fortitude of iron.
I need to find a new game but video games in general are really boring. I am going to go crazy.
The balance counsel nerfed zerg again and serral 3-0’d maru. Meanwhile Hero loses FOUR oracles against reynor and we are supposed to pretend it’s balance’s fault that protoss have no champions. I busted up laughing as rotti was trying to explain that hero is amazing despite his terrible unit management and that he wins with killer instinct or some other feng shui bs. It’s like, no, he wins because protoss is really freaking good at amoving to free wins. It’s time for the balance counsel to admit that serral is just better than everyone else, and move on with life. You know, show a little bit of humility. Serral is just better than us, ok, so lets stop deleting zerg from the ladder just to please our egos, ok? Ok. It’s never going to happen. They are going to keep nerfing zerg until the cows come home. Mark my words. The predictions are in.
