I can load up the SCII game itself (custom lobbies take forever to load). The main issue however, is that I get stuck at joining a lobby (most common) or the map starts downloading but is stuck for ages in custom games and I cannot play any versus or customs games.

This happened to me a while back and the way I had to fix it was log out of everything including Battlenet, run the repair scan (I knew it was fine but do it anyway), then disconnect and reconnect to my wifi then sign back in. If you’re hardwired then disconnect it, wait 30 seconds, then reconnect. It’ll refresh the MAC ID in case there was an issue there. That should fix it. If it doesn’t, run a speed test on your internet. As odd as that sounds, slow internet will cause it to hang up in the loading screen preventing you from playing anything other than campaign.
I don’t think slow internet is the problem as i have gigabit fibre…
[info provided by IronManhood] Leave ALL chat rooms and see if that helps. The chat system seems to block the game from loading properly or something.
