Better yet, calculate what people lost and add that in. The stimpack solution would also mean some gets free xp for nothing.
As for people who spent real money, that is up to Blizzard to decide honestly.
I have no real opinion since i don’t know the severity and I bet you don’t either.
Trying to not make this a moral case.
You accuse me of being a hypocrite and then shift the goalpost… lol…
Rights are not the topic.
Refer to 2.
Nope. Never did. Not even implied it.
I exaggerated what you said. A little dishonest? Sure, but i didn’t outright put words in your mouth.
Yes you do. Everyone is telling you what they think but you have a feeling in your heart that says that people are just crying for free stuff and that matters more then what everyone actually says.
How about you say that earlier instead of going on a tirade about the “free stuff and lazy entitled people!”
Anyways Gladonos, I am done. You’re just gonna skew whatever I say in an angle for me to debunk, and then you do the same to that debunk, and it goes on and on. I’m not doing this, this is ridicolous. I’ve made my position plenty clear already.
Good luck with getting your xp bakc everyone.
Just admit you are wrong on this one. Seriously. This just ridiculous and childish. You are not gonna lose any credibility.
“Hydroelectric power”
There, the topic is now about hydroelectric power because i mentioned hydroelectric power. Just like how you mentioned rights and are now saying the topic is about rights.
I care about legality but not on this subject. If i am talking about hunting i don’t need to talk about the laws regarding hunting.
“I’ve seen what happens when companies buckle under pressure and gives out free things. Everyone wants a share and the reasons used becomes increasingly more ludicrous.”
^ You. Your statement.
No you are trying to derail a discussion to defend Blizzard.
Not nearly as much as you have called people whiners. < Primary point above all else.
Ahhh no more goalpost shifting, strawmanning, dodging or poisoning the well? How disappointing.
Honestly I think the compansation should be a double Stimpack for a month.
You know like working warchest and Mengsk Stim together. It will likely be just a lone week stim knowing blizz and that is regardless if bought Mengksbundle already or not we should be able to dream.
Eh, I think that players are currently playing in good faith that XP earned during this time will be given out - if it isn’t, then some sort of compensation seems like a good idea.
XP is not the game. Are you playing the game because you enjoy it, or because you want XP? Is the number on your screen after the game so significant to enjoyment? Was your gameplay actually hindered by the temporary absence of it?
When you bought the game, you got the product you paid for. Pending further purchases (such as the boosts relevant here), you’re not entitled to anything else and you shouldn’t feel that you are.
Again, this isn’t an issue of ‘entitlement’. It’s an issue of good customer service.
I used to work in a pizza place. If a customer ordered a pizza and we forgot some of the toppings they ordered, chances are they’d still enjoy the pizza - but we’d give them a coupon as their experience was not at a satisfactory level.
Again, though - it surprises me that people are actually pushing back on this idea. What exactly annoys you about Blizzard giving people their XP back, or a free stimpack in compensation?
First off, that scenario is fair, but it’s not an accurate analogy. Missing toppings that were ordered and paid for are a much more directly significant and effective change then this.
This changed from an issue of customer service to one of entitlement when the focus changed from Blizzard giving it to you all pushing for it. Demanding it, whether politely or not.
No analogy will be perfect - because it’s an analogy. Rather than being pedantic about it, take it with a bit of charity and understand the point I’m making.
In both cases, a customer receives a product that is good, but sub-par for a specific reason out of their control. In both situations, it is in the interest of the business to take steps to compensate for this negative experience.
This is standard practice in basically every industry that cares about customer satisfaction. I’d rather not see gaming become one where it’s not.
Again - what specifically do you have against people getting XP back/a free stimpack in compensation?
Your gameplay experience regarding this is not subpar or negative. Nor is your desired compensation for a non-issue, standard.
But you’ve made up your mind that you’re entitled to this and I doubt I can convince you otherwise, so it’s a good thing I don’t have to. Just don’t count on getting it.
Well, if you would consider a voucher for a restaurant where you had a sub-par meal charity then…k?
Count? No. But it would certainly make me happier if it did. Obviously the first prize would be simply giving the xp earned over this time back to players - but I don’t see how that would be possible.
Also - I notice that you are continuing to dodge a very simple question - which suggests to me that you are arguing in bad faith.
Matter of fact it is, if you’re sub-90 mastery it does affect how strong your commander is.
Even if you’re 90+ grinding Ascension levels those are not working either and people are entitled to have the product they paid for work.
“Gameplay experience” includes exp, it includes graphics, achievement, loading time, toxic partners, all the bells and whistles, etc. everything that could possibly affect enjoyment.
Players ordered a certain product (stimpack especially, or any commander they ever bought) and did not get it as advertised (ie with mastery+ascension levels increasing)… some people don’t care about the difference, some do…
Missing a topping may not change the nutritional value of the pizza [it might even improve it], but it does change the “eating experience”
I’m calling it right now, in terms of exp itself, it is impossible to compensate affected players so they won’t do anything for that. There’s literally no way for them to keep track of who has been affected, and if they could keep track, they’d probably know how to fix the issue immediately.
As for the stim thing, I hope it is compensated. It would be really dirty business if they didn’t make up for a (now) week long major screw up.
Man what is with these janny-styled “Do it for free” stop being entitled wingnuts that constantly prioritize AGAINST their own self interests? There is literally no good argument against “not” at least giving said exp out.
These last 2 patches/hotpatches have been at best a hot mess, at first visual effects and ranked queues were completely busted and after they fixed them that somehow broke the mastery system on the same event they decided to give out bundles that included stimpacks; things that increase the EXP that you literally cannot gain right now.
I’m sure there’s some internet armchair lawyer salivating at the thought of a petty claim against blizzard for what is ultimately false advertising, should they of course fail to deliver on the promise of “more experience at a price” when delivering “no experience at a price.”
But all of that extremely self evident common sense aside I still find it baffling that there are, at best, argumentative “devil’s advocate” highschool students trying to play teacher’s pet to activision and defending the practice of charging people for something that objectively “does not work”, and at worst people who actively go against their own interests to satisfy CORPORATIONS.
Corporations are not people or your friend. It is a tenuous capitalistic relationship and if they could cut us open and sell our organs for money they would, granted yellow tape didn’t get in the way. You should always, ALWAYS prioritize yourself and other consumers, you have everything to lose by even contemplating acceptance of corporate laziness.
If a player has Stim Pack or Warchest, they should get days added to their duration equal to the duration of the bug that prevented the Stim or Chest from giving experience. This is because it’s pretty rare to be able to get either a Chest or a Stim.
I used to be a Maple Story player, that was how Nexon compensated players whose 2x cards could not be used due to Nexon mess-ups; this was one of the issues they fixed appropriately, but let’s just say Blizzard is almost always better at treating its players than Nexon ever was.
I am not sure how it would be possible to compensate players who did not have a Stim or a Chest, because you aren’t inherently paying a subscription or such and are playing for free provided you bought the commander you wanted for 5 dollars.
