Nope, the shotgun just sucked so bad that it either whiffed, or the Roadhog player would attempt to step forward and shoot to counter how inaccurate it was.
PS4. If I use LFG, 100%. Comp solo queue maybe 10% with mics, 60% in voice channel so at least they can hear. QP/Arcade is maybe 10% in voice channel. If there is a mic plugged it it’s half either background noise or someone breathing really heavy, and half a screaming child.
Possibly, but I didn’t notice the problem in PTR (and I played a lot there before the patch went live…like a stupid lot). You were still able to land and use a defensive there, it’s only on live that the problem seems to exist.
he is a tank who offers no shields, bubbles, matrix whatever… without his hook being useful he is just a fat walking ult battery… so yea there needs to be some tradeoff for picking him.
Dude that’s the same over here. I don’t understand why people have such bad mics. And there are relatively cheap ones that block background noise, so it’s almost like people intentionally have bad mics or something.
Doesn’t change the fact that it existed in PTR and that’s what everyone was expecting and people are getting a little bent out of shape that it doesn’t exist on live and they want it on live because that’s the way it seems like it was supposed to work.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying Blizzard should change it, I’m saying that the problem might stem from the fact that many people who played on the PTR are probably the ones complaining now.
Standing on a control point that’s 20m wide (same as hook Length) isn’t out of position.
A Reinhardt adjusting his Shield a centimetre to block a pharah rocket and exposing their mercy for half a second isn’t the Mercy being out of position.
A roadhog looping around behind and dragging an Ana from the group from the high ground doesn’t mean the Ana is out of position.
Roadhog is supposed to punish bad positioning yes. But this change means he punishes even daring exist with 200hp and no all encompassing shield.
Why do people always quote only the part of the post that supports what they’re saying and try to ignore the rest of it? It’s rather closed minded of you.
I can’t say the hog change was something this game needed, even if the character probably needed a buff individually.
There is just far, far too much dang damage in this game and adding more makes playing a miserable existence when everyone just pops instantly.
Then taking account that ana is prevalent in every game mode, you get this fat tank who just won’t ever die and you can’t properly counter him by using chars like zenyatta either because doomfist will also make your life miserable and it’s frankly impossible to get a match without at least 1-2 flankers minimum.
Read the rest and you’ll see that I was simply saying that people complaining might be complaining because it did exist, even if for a moment. It was what people were expecting because there was no indication that it should work another way at all. It confused me at first too, I acknowledge that, but I know I can just try to work around it. There are good points here about how it could negatively impact the game and how he is played, and you can’t ignore them.
Don’t ignore opposing viewpoints because they don’t jive with what you want to be true. If I did that I wouldn’t be talking to you at all, but I found the conversation stimulating and you did change my mind on a couple things.
Also, if I didn’t address something you said directly it’s probably because I agreed with you on it.
Trust me I understand internal bias. I almost cried when they “hot-fixed” Moira’s ability to heal through shields.
(Edit: I actually don’t think “internal” is the right word here, but I can’t think of what it should be to save my life…)
I actually really do like where Roadhog is now and I don’t think anything about him really needs to be fixed. The only thing I wanted was to have the time to use a defensive after he managed to get a hook off because I thought that was how it was supposed to work since it was like that before the buff and it seemed to still work like that in the PTR.
The only thing I feel should be done is maybe make it easier for him to be punished should he try to flank and get someone from the backline, but I sadly have no idea how to do that.
