There was no mis-attribution nor deceit on my part, as I specifically stated that I was altering the post. Thus, it is clear that the altered post was not made by you. Furthermore, there is no rule requiring that someone accurately recount another’s post.
I find that misconstruction of a statement’s meaning through discarding its context is highly rude and deceitful.
I ask that you not misconstrue my statements, as you have done here and on numerous other threads, and you issue a redaction of your misconstruction immediately. As indicated, I have written a template above for you to use, which should facilitate your doing so, if you so desire. If said action is taken, then I would be amenable to the idea of altering the above post to your liking, even though it does not mis-attribute any statements.
In any case, this false-accusation-focused, non-topical side conversation is, as Quizzy pointed out, unfair to the OP, and I will not respond to any further false accusations of mis-attribution or of the meaning of my previous statement regarding console shaming. I would suggest you consider the same. If you would like to have a conversation regarding topics relevant to this thread without misconstruing statements or defaming others through false accusations, I would be happy to do so.
there is a statement that is attributed to me that I did not state. I find this to be deceitful and rude in the extreme. I ask again that it be removed or corrected in some fashion
No statement I have made in this thread has misconstrued something stated by another
No material I have quoted in this thread is misattributed
IDK, Symmetra mains give them a real run for their money. The principle difference, I think, is that Symmetra has never really been a seriously controversial hero and has pretty much always been UP, whereas Mercy has jerked around between UP, OP, and balanced and was and remains highly controversial, so folks tend to sympathize with and tolerate Symm mains a lot more than Mercy mains.
people like OP and the ones arguing semantics and nitpicking with pedantic BS are the ones that do their own heroes community harm and is probably why devs don’t listen to them
it just seems like a bunch of kids crying in the grocery store because they didn’t get the candy they wanted
Well, I think that’s a product of what I stated. People sympathize with Symmetra mains, so it doesn’t usually devolve into the basal level of vitriol that Mercy threads often do. That said, it does reach that point sometimes, especially when people get on the topic of Symmetra’s lock-on beam.
I would be willing to bet good money that if Symmetra reached Mercy levels of power, the scenario would be very similar, with many Symmetra mains asking for a revert or another rework, and other people telling them, “no, I like her, she’s balanced.” It’s… kinda that way now, but like I said, because Symmetra isn’t a hugely controversial hero and is pretty widely seen as UP, it’s not nearly as widespread or… energetic, we’ll say.
Basically my point is, it’s not just a Mercy deal. I don’t think it’s really fair to target Mercy mains and call them spoiled children, when plenty of other people do the same thing and we sympathize with them, as is often the case with Symmetra mains (and also Brigitte, DVa, Torbjorn, etc etc). What it really comes down to, I think, is the community at large is just tired of Mercy being an issue, and they still have a lot of bad taste in their mouth from the massively-negative impact of the rework, so they just want all those conversations about Mercy to go away, which doesn’t sit well with the people who take issue with her and want to talk about it, just like people who take issue with Symm 3.0 or Torb 2.0 or DVa… whatever we’re on want to talk about their heroes. In honesty, too, the DVa conversations often go the same way, with people complaining about her feeling clunky and ineffectual frequently shut down by folks saying that they like her and that she’s balanced, before the whole thing devolves into vitriol. But, DVa was never the level of issue that Mercy was, so we as a community tend not to care quite as much.
How about you specify, if you played with stack, or on your own?
Cause my experience says, that teammates have way too much influence on how far you can get. Since my solo play as Mercy got me into silver at best, while playing with duo got me into platinum.
That statement is made as if it is fact. That is an opinion. I personally do not find Mercy to be fun, and her impact is relegated to her main cooldown ability that contradicts the inital desire from the developers to not encourage Mercy to stop healing for a time and hide addressed in her rework.
I’ve said many times she requires no changes, but the developers change heroes even when they do not.
I talked about this extensively in a post I made here, if you’re interested.
Well maybe in console where that minute change is position can throw off someones aim, sure. But in PC, that movement is negligable and pretty much standing still. I’m sure you’d notice if you had to play the entire game at 1.375 meters per second as your maximum movement speed.
Hes never willing to have a genuine conversation about it. I tried in this thread as a counter to his position and all he could say was " I don’t agree". He does it a lot and he can’t put depth to his opinion.
But like he says, an unsubstantiated opinion is one you can have.
