I made a hero concept just over a week ago that could work well for Echo. I’ve edited a new version with Echo, but I will also link the original hero concept below.
Gameplay and abilities:
Echo is an off tank/support hybrid. Echo is designed to sacrifice her own health for allies. She has 50 health and 250 shields to make up for this (300hp overall). These values may need to be adjusted to 50hp and 200 shields (250hp overall). I personally think Echo would be a 3 star difficultly hero.
Primary Fire (No ammo required):
Echo’s primary weapon is Photon staff, similar to Mercy’s. Echo swings her staff to release a slash projectile that can pass through enemies and barriers that does 60 damage per slash and travels at 20m per second. Each slash/swing takes 1 second to charge. These slash projectiles can also pass through allies to heal them for 30hp (or maybe 50hp). Photon Staff will also act as a melee weapon at close range, dealing an additionally 40 damage every second and pushing back enemies. This can do a maximum of 100 damage per second at a range of 5m.
Photon Shield (No cooldown):
Echo sacrifices 50 of her permanent shield health and gives this to an ally. This lowers Echo’s maximum shield health by 50. She cannot regenerate these lost 50 shields unless she removes Photon shield by using the interact button, or if a teammate dies. It does not require line of sight to stay on a teammate. When Photon Shield is removed from an ally with the interact button the 50 shield health becomes temporary and decays away after 2 seconds. Photon shield can be applied to a maximum of 3 allies at the same time (this could be reduced to 2). However, this would reduce Echo’s maximum shield health by 150 (She would have 150hp overall). Photon shield may also be stacked on the same teammate to reach a maximum of 100 shields.
Photon dash (8-second cooldown):
Echo takes flight and dashes a short distance in any direction (including vertical movement) with incredible speed. Echo is still targetable during photon dash, unlike Moira’s fade.
Life Link (10-second cooldown):
Echo grants a single ally 30% damage reduction with the cost of taking this 30% damage herself. All buffs Echo receive from other teammates (such as healing, damage boost, speed boost, or damage reduction) will also be shared at 50% value with Echo’s Life link target. For example, if Ana Nano boosts Echo and she is connected to Echo with Life link, Ana will receive 50% of the effects of Nano boost herself. Life Link requires line of sight to stay on a teammate and has a 30m range similar to Zen’s Orb of Harmony. Life link has a 10-second cooldown and an 8-second duration.
Ultimate ability (Thrive):
Echo grants herself and all allies within a 15m radius around her 2.25 seconds of Invulnerability, and 50 permanent shield health until they die. This shield health stacks with Photon shield and previous ultimates to 100 shield health. All allies in this initial radius would also be healed for 50hp.
Passive Ability:
Any damage Echo does with her Staff of Chaos to enemies will activate personal shield regeneration (Shields usually start to regenerate after 3 seconds without taking damage). If Echo has a current Life Link target, their damage will also activate shield regeneration. If Echo or her life link target has full shield health, this passive will generation 50 temporary shields.
Edits: Echo’s health could be reduced to 250 (50hp and 200 shields), and photon shield could only be applied to a maximum of two allies.
Photon shield could be stack on the same ally to a maximum of 100 shields. Thrive could be stacked to a maximum of 100 shields.
Photon Staff could heal 50hp per shot instead of 30hp. Life Link now grants 30% damage reduction and 50% shared buffs. If Echo or her life link target has full shield health, her passive will generation 50 temporary shields instead.
