Lost two advantages due to lifegripping

I was JUST about to drop a wall as Symmetra at 100% health when I got lifegripped away from my position. Our payload was 3m from the end. As Pharah I was about to take out 3 people on the point and I got lifegripped…why? I was not in danger. Why is lifegrip a thing?

LifeGrip is NOT like Mei Wall, its worse

Lifegrip shouldn't exist

Lifeweaver’s Lifegrip should be replaced with a different skill. The ability to pull teammates is a horrible power to give to the low-elo players: They don’t understand the game at all. They don’t understand 1v1 matchups. Where I stub my toe and immediately get yanked out of any position. It’s a useless ability in upper ranks: Team coordination is sort of built into these games. Y can't LW just have Healing turrets instead of Lifegrip?

Lifegrip is already against the support philosophy they made going into OW2. And is now the most hated ability in OW2. (see players throw after being saved by it.) Healing Turrets is similar enough and more “forgiving”… Why couldn’t Lifeweaver just be another turret hero?

If they are going to remove or change lifegrip

Can they please just do it now. I don’t want another Mei or Symmetra situation where I grow to love a character’s kit and then they just remove it. Would rather just know now before I invest 100s of hours for nothing. Note I don’t want it changed or deleted I think it is the best new ability they have ever added but I know the devs remove things if people cry long and hard enough and ruin it for everyone else.

So long as Lifeweaver can pull without a players’ consent and then grief targets or your own position with petal platform I am refusing to play with a Lifegriefer in team. We need to stand up to this as Lifegriefer is worst then Mei wall griefs and Sym fall teleports. I can forgive scope blocking and refusal to heal me but not both platform target denial/petal door denial along with dive denial gripping and tank grip spamming. This has been proven to be a fact by multiple streamers already and others. So yes, it is an undeniable fact, not just an opinion, unlike your ‘Pay to WiIiIiIiIn’ opinions. Wrong. Mei’s Ice Wall was THE only ability with a griefing potential in Overwatch, until Lifegriefer came along. If you do know others, then i suggest you name them instead of pulling the overused Mei card on us.

Lifeweaver for trolls

There’s gotta be a catch cause yeah, it sounds like a griefers dream. So strange, removing so much CC from the game and then adding something like this, the mother of all ‘lose control of your character’ mechanics.

I already think Lifeweaver is too Trolly

To me the problem isn’t bad apples. I expect very few people to actually be real griefers/trolls. Contrary to how much the forums whines, I think real trolls are extremely rare. However, most players are not actually very good at the game. I would fully expect a lot of people think they’re helping you when they’re actually not.

Lifeweaver is a Total Failure

I honestly can’t believe that he is a hero in Overwatch. Almost nothing about this hero is executed well. His kit feels totally clunky and doesn’t “flow” well compared to other heroes at all! The healing is so slow, so bad. His primary’s spread is ridiculous. The weapon SWAP… it feels absolutely terrible, especially mid battle! Reloading on both healing and primary. His useless, small dash… It’s a disaster honestly.

How to properly rework Lifeweaver's pull ability

Currently, lifeweaver will shield an ally while pulling them(against their will) to his location. Conceptually, this a major problem because it takes away player agency and gives it to a teammate, someone who a) can’t see their screen and doesn’t know the situation like they do, and b) are more than likely in a role dictating gameplay of roles they aren’t as experienced on. Tl:Dr, I am against the implementation of the character but I like the concepts. They have a lot of potential to make the game more diverse, fun, and overall interesting. Lifeweaver consistent unintended gameplay sabotage

LW is a hero that players need to adapt to whether that is playing as LW, with LW, or against LW. People are going to be bad at him and people aren’t going to understand how to play with or against him off the bat. It’s okay. LW is most similar to Mercy and most people gravitate to more traditional FPS like heroes and we haven’t gotten a similar hero to Mercy before. It’s going to take time for people to learn him etc. Give him some time to settle before writing him off.

I literally vomited from a Life Grip

Turns out. Motion sickness exists, and it probably explains why I experienced one of the worst games I’ve ever had in my first game with them. I ended up playing more games yesterday in QP.
