Lifegrip shouldn't exist

Lifeweaver’s Lifegrip should be replaced with a different skill.

  1. The ability to pull teammates is a horrible power to give to the low-elo players: They don’t understand the game at all. They don’t understand 1v1 matchups. Where I stub my toe and immediately get yanked out of any position.

  2. It’s a useless ability in upper ranks: Team coordination is sort of built into these games.

  3. From a lore perspective, where does “Lifegrip” come into play with his other “Nature” themed skills?

  4. It hurts player’s development by giving players a free pass to what could be a learning opportunity. Why did I die? What could I have done better?

It’s to the point where I sigh of relief whenever I don’t see a Lifeweaver on my team and tell them never to pull me if I do have a Lifeweaver on my team.

I think it’s a bit early for that.

The hero seems like he’s really ripe for somebody to figure out the meta strategy with him.

Similar to how LaunchBrig seemed useless for the first 2-3 months, until people figured out how strong she was.

PVE and overall lore has nothing to do with game mechanics.

You’re not curious why a pacifist with no powers like Zen is a killing machine in PvP?

Or why talon and Overwatch and junkers team up?

Launch Brigg was never useless and was in the meta overnight. GOATS did not exist immediately but Brigg was in the meta day1 because she made Tracer obsolete and Tracer had been meta since the start of OW (kind of like right now).

It’s a super strong ability though. Undoes hooks, fixes failed rein pins, saves teammates from rein pins, spits on Genji’s ult, yanks players from grav. It’s really good.

EDIT: I played a lot of Mei, so I totally get the part where an ability can ‘feel useless’ if you don’t use it right. But that’s what makes a skillful tradeoff. Like ice walling under an enemy rein to force them to release your team. Or lifting up a sleeping target out of harm’s way. It’s an ability that’s only as strong as you make it.

Completely agree with OP, however could be saved if they include an Interact to be pulled button.

Its not going anywhere it is part of his kit for a reason. Did they take away mei wall? No, and i hate to break it to you but no one outside of these forums cares. It is what it is. We will suck it up as usual.

these are changes for permission added to life griefer so he stops griefing people giving people back their choice because people with motion sickness say no to people who play him and they still do it

i tell him no for other reasons

i had to go fix it lol

We will just have to see if something can be done about the motion sickness, idk i guess its possible

I feel like your post could literally be copied and pasted to every support.

Especially number 4. I guess I should just start letting my teammates die so they can learn their lesson.

Rez? Sorry you shouldn’t have died.

Suzu to save you from a DVa bomb? Sorry bro. You should be playing a more mobile character.

Lamp to save you from the incoming tire? Nope sorry, you should have shot it down before it got to you. Your fault.

They’ve already talked about the fact that they have zero plans to add an interact feature. It makes the ability too unreliable.

But thats the thing they dont learn. And then they dead anyway. At lesst now you can help them from being stupid and killing themselves and costing the game.

What if instead of pulling it made a protective bubble teleported you back to the casting point? Would that be better ir worse, since you would just be instantly somewhere else instead of going a distance

that is just symmetra teleporter

But wouldn’t it help? I havent heard ppl get mition sickness from teleport abilities

the accept or decline attached to yes or no is the fix

declining also takes like half the cost away

timeouts = auto no
