Choosing 6 heroes in any combination from 31 has around 700,000 combinations. choosing 222 has about 70,000.

It’s worse than that since some non-meta heroes will get you banned if you attempt playing them. So you’re pretty much down to selecting from 4 DPS heroes, 4 tanks, and 4 healers.

numerous reportings with picture evidence posted on the forums. People who have been playing non-meta heroes in the past have been reported for throwing, which will have eventually resulted in a suspension.

Are you sure that wasn’t because they were actually throwing? Like, playing torb won’t get you banned, playing torb and running around with hammer only will. “Picture evidence” can be really easy to fake.

Back in S2 a T500 Torb got banned because everyone rage reported him for maining torb. And yet he was doing well enough to make the top 500.
And this was even after El Jeffe came out and said “Not playing meta heroes is not a reportable offense. Don’t report people for playing something other than what you want them to.”
