Why can't players simply accept that they are bad?

Isn’t that basically what you’re doing with the whole ‘you’re just bad’ / ‘it’s hopeless’ routine?

Your ego (seemingly) can’t cope with the possibility of legitimately losing, so you’re trying to re-invent the situation as hopeless so you don’t have to (try to) play and lose.

I think that topic will not come up with something good and valuable. That was a little rant about “unfair game” and that’s pretty much it. Stretching it further is pointless.

This was a funny thread. I appreciate the sad but passionate gusto of the OP

Stat != Stats

The only stat I can think of that can’t be padded is kills, since that actively requires the enemy give up their life for you to increase that number.

Even if you play a finisher like Genji it takes quite a bit of skill.

Damage taken can be padded, time spent dead can be cheated (inactive player rather than careful player), healing, siege, hero damage, even EXP (if the player does nothing but soak).

Mhm I think I disagree, I would say it’s pretty 50:50 I dont think skill and toxicity are in any correlation.

Not saying that every occasion of calling out your team is toxicity.

People are so programmed. The lower their intellectual level and the level of evolutionary development, the more the program of behavior affects them, and the more difficult it is to resist it.

I had that in a recent game with an Azmodan player who in a 20 minute game didn’t join one team fight or objective and when called out on it said “I have the highest XP on the team.” One of the team pointed out to him that he had the highest deaths on both teams and also hadn’t scratched any of the enemy forts and our core was about to die, but hey, highest XP.

Its beceuse they are trying to create weak and pathetic community, which gonna cry after u yell at them. Everything goes with a plan. Hiden by political correctnes, tolerance, empathy and other leftis gibberish.
Crybabies, whimps feel the power coz they can ruin your game, and there is nothing u can do about it. They gonna reprt u, coz u told them the truth - yes they were s***.
And this is so sadly true…
I hate " might make right" and " survival of the fittest" rules, but when people cant bare crirics about themselves realy this world is about to an end in dramaticly short time

I agree that ppl should be more openminded about their potential lackings… but why would anyone give up?

“There is 0 fun in being stomped”

It’s actually pretty easy, if you see games like 5 - 30 kills and behind in 4 levels, people aren’t motiviated, because it’s most likely impossible to turn it around.

If you give up, your chance to win is 0% by your choice.
I personally play to win, so my goal is to increase my chances, not nullifying them.

LoL, of all the stats, bragging about XP is probably the least important when isolated by itself. Brings me back to when I was still a noob starting the game. I was playing Zeratul because he was one of my favorite characters in SC, and thought I could speed level my team like I was playing Diablo. The only problem is in Diablo, there isn’t another team also trying to kill you.

I never went to any objectives, just went from lane to lane thinking I was a badass dark templar thinking I was so cool being cloaked against minions who literally don’t care if you are anyways, cleaving minions. People would obviously complain, and I would say look how much XP I have.

Deep down, even then, I kinda knew it was BS lol. Now, I realize I suck at melee assassins and hate playing with people who used to be like me. I empathize, but the thing is, it didn’t take me hundreds, much less thousands of game to learn this.

I will partially push back on Yusuke’s comment though that, if I had to choose a stat, in general, damage done has meaning if you have more than others. People like to say how you can stat pad on it all the time, but it’s actually kind of difficult because, again, enemy heroes actually tend to fight back. Doing hero damage in a way that allows you to survive, because if you push too far and die, you can no longer do damage. The best players will sneak in whatever damage they can and be aggressive.

There is a difference between accepting lose under certain circumstances, and wasting time foolishly trying to win, getting tilted because obviously it doesn’t work and reported.

Does anyone ever actually get these games though? Even when I’m playing against a group of masters premades in QM, this doesn’t even happen. And honestly, even then, who cares. How often do I have this opportunity to get whooped this badly? From then, it’s a challenge to see how much you can actually put up a fight so you’re not an easy win against some of the best players.

Trying to win, to me, is never a waste of time. And no one learns anything from giving up, but trying to overcome disadvantages can improve ppl.

By your logic playing lottery isn’t waste of money, because the chances to win a prize aren’t 0%.

Good players usually don’t feed, so it’s unlikely that this will happen there, but I remember seeing games on KhaldorTV, where a difference with 3 level were kinda common and usually this games ended like stomps, even Khaldor acknowledged it.

You can’t exactly “try” harder in a lottery situation. You either buy the ticket, or you don’t lol. If you have to play through a game anyways, it costs you nothing unlike buying a new ticket.

Khaldor is pretty bad at analysis a lot of the times. I honestly would prefer to watch games without his commentary.

Which rank is he actually?

Edit:

Depends on how you define “try harder”, you certainly could buy a lot of tickets and that would increase your chances compared to someone, who only buys one. :stuck_out_tongue:
