The thought is that they could take a few of the Assasins (Xul, Azmodan, Zagara) that have minions and reduce their personal damage and abilities and focus them on their minions(possibly removing minion limits and timers). They support other heroes by providing reinforments and well as buffs that also apply to their own minions. To balance out the possibility of large hordes, make the summons worth xp. Thoughts?
Why should they change them anyway?
The issue with having large amounts of summons, or summons without a duration, is that it is incredibly taxing on the game system to have so many units active, and it can cause confusion in a fight when there are too many units everywhere (specifically in a MOBA). Combine this with the idea that they can block dozens of important skillshots, and it can be concerning.
However, the idea of a support that uses a Summon and can buff that Summon is an idea I am very much in support of! I made a Magatha concept centered on that very idea, where her trait summons an Earth Elemental that she can then buff for combat effectiveness away from allied heroes.

So like Rexxar but on steroids?
i like the idea of having less dmg and more creeps
i think the xp is a bit too much tho, it would help the opposite team
also, it could be a new healer concept!!!
i think a WoW Warlock like summoner would be dope, their trait could be to switch between demons that stay permanant till their death, then they need to recharge so you summon a new demon and have abilities for like q could be a shadow bolt w could be a demons abilitiy and e could be a heal demon ability.
so they arent summoning a whole army however they could have an imp army as an ult or an infernal as an ult or the beholder demon as an ult. i think it would be sweeeet
