Should kills and deaths be hidden?

This game is dying without the pro scene but sure.

Ouch.

Not even Rag can burn this bad.

Won’t change a thing. Toxicity isn’t based on those numbers, toxicity just uses them. Remove the numbers and toxic players will find something else to be rude about.
But I agree that those numbers are useless and do not say anything about a player’s skill. They only mislead other players encouraging afk farming (hello to MVP Azmodan with enormous siege damage and 0 destroyed enemy forts).

Nah, it’s was the devs trying to balance bronze 5, quick match, Grandmasters and the pro scene and that was impossible.

Seriously though, I find the people who say “the game has improved with HGC gone” is basically trying to mock the current state of the game where the weekly brawls are a joke, the match making makes no sense and QM quality has turned into crap since last year.

Perhaps due to the popularity of the game going down Blizz has less unpaid game testers(regular players) to give them free input?

Volunteering would certainly help a lot, problem is they have to commit to it.

Remove all stats and you will still have people being toxic. I’ve seen people being toxic just because they didn’t like the specific healer a player was drafting. “No don’t draft Li Li she’s brain dead!”

The stats are important to a certain extent if you want to gauge your own performance. Removing something like the damage taken stat was a bad idea, it helped me both as a tank and bruiser and all roles. If I was taking more damage than my tank as Jaina I could at least assume I was positioning too aggressively.

They always have taken input it just has to be in Reddit

I mean seriously they have taken a lot of feedback and interacted with the Reddit community a lot over the years, and still do so, again if you want to give feedback you have to stick to Reddit.

Oh, thought it would make more sense to be on the Official HOTS forums. Regardless, show me the money.

They have scheduled AMA’s there and you can just filter the Dev responses to see how frequent they post. This isn’t any secret it has been going on for years LOL.

Do they show me the money there?

And so they’ll just switch to bullying them over dying constantly. Or their low damage. Or Xp. Or whatever else is at hand. The death count is not itself the cause for bullying, it’s just an excuse the toxics use to retroactively justify themselves. Removing it wouldn’t stop any bullying, it would just make them get a different excuse.

If they don’t have anything to point to, they will have to come up with something. I look forward to this level of creativity. :yum:

Well I’m bad at math, but I can count the 12 death Illidan or Butcher by his yolo death dings without having a stat screen. I can see them engage 1vs5 and die 12 times. It won’t be that difficult.

The point of the stats is to help your own performance. I will keep arguing that removing damage taken and giving self healing is detrimental, as damage taken was more useful and the self healing numbers, simply because many heroes self-healing are disregarded, where at least all heroes would show damage taken.

A shameless plug:

If I make a fun thread like “Why are the Devs so amazing” or a fake “I’m leaving HOTS, cause of existential torment” thread, maybe the devs will at least give me one line as to why they removed the damage taken stat?

Hide ALL stats.

Pressing tab should only see your own stats not anyone else.

It’ll take, “Make a Wish” for you to find your answer straight from the Devs mouth. You will also have to fit special criteria in order for you have earn the attention of Make a Wish.
