Should kills and deaths be hidden?

Should kills and deaths be hidden on the scoreboard until returning to the main menu, to reduce toxicity?

This way nobody could bully others over their death count or anything

I doubt it would actually do anything. Toxicity is not based in reality most times. And anyone who is paying attention to the feed would still know who is dying.

You can hide deaths. But it’s still hard not to notice one person dying 5 times as much as everyone else.

I doubt it would make a difference.

it would be cool if it actually stops bullies from provoking the one with most deaths and make the player play worse. but unfortunately it’s so easy to notice someone that’s dying constantly even without it showing how many times they died you can easily just see them die over and over again.

It would not change a thing.
When people get tilted at someone they will notice anything that person does.
Plus they would just wait for the end of the match to see the death count and report you all the same.
Plus death count still is data that can be used in some usefull manner once in a while.

At this point hide all stats because it promotes toxicity.

lol

How many times are you dying that you’re getting bullied for deaths?

Everyone should just play with a blank white screen. That way no one can hurt anyone’s feelings.

I’m offended that you chose the screen to be white rather than any other color.

Not being sarcastic here. I would not have the stats sheet at all, because I think all the numbers are pointless. It is only used to see if someone is not pulling their weight. i.e. DPS with obviously low damage, or healer with obviously low healing, or tank with too many deaths. Still pointless with pure observations can tell you if someone is doing their job properly.

Only keep the talent picks sheet.

What’s with this community and limiting more info out of the playerbase? Statistics are important to tell if the hero on average is doing optimal or not, and don’t even throw at me the toxicity argument because that’s just silly.

It is the cause of some toxicity, even you can’t deny it.

Though my argument would go into the realm of balancing, comp, player skills, map, and situations that arise in the match. These things can skew numbers in many different ways. It’s why I don’t bother to look at the numbers. As long as you’re doing your job, then you’re good.

Yes it is the cause of toxicity does not mean we should limit statistics because a bunch of man children are being meanies with it that’s just dumb, we are not care bears.

Let’s remove yearly result publications for big companies. They are used to point out that some companies are not doing well and that causes toxicity.

I agree. I’d say it also depends how much of this is affecting the games environment. Additionally I never heard anyone explain how this info is used and useful without someone bringing up the match makeup. Replay please!

I’m sure you heard this story from me before. I left WoW for two reasons. The games current expansion was trash. The community is also trash. I could not go 1 instance without someone posting meters, to either flex, or disrespect someone.

So I had some options: Turn off ALL my chat to avoid jerks spamming chat and potentially miss out on important info, or stop going to instances. I ended up quitting WoW instead, far easier.

High ranks uses this info constantly to see if a hero is doing fine on average when it comes to stats, as an example, healers doing their best tend to bring similar results in healing amount, if its not that case then the healer is under-performing in that department and requires to be buffed to have ability to keep up, when balancing you buff/nerf things that can affect the average statistics that player achieve depending on what the hero is currently under/overperforming the most at despite doing their job just fine.

For QM players and low ranks this probably means nothing to them as expected but stats are more meaningful than what people try to justify them as a pool that generate toxicity.

Seriously limiting stuff to the playerbase because “its toxic” is not a helpful solution, its basically holding the innocent accountable because those humans filled with waste inside are using it wrong.

If you find anyone doing that you are free to report them for Abusive Chat.

We should have no tab bar, people get offended by stats, it’s an abomination. Nobody should have information as people could be toxic. They removed damage taken as it was toxic and gave us self healing as it’s non toxic. Remove all stats now!

We have witnessed what happens when nerfs and buffs are based on the “pro” scene. Always ended in a game dying.
