I dont see this as a negative outcome.
Yes.
I dont see this as a negative outcome.
Fudge that.
This notion of āfairnessā, where you only ever play against other bad players is what makes you a bad player.
This is an absurd position.
And you think your position is not?
This is just straight up hypocrisy.
Im not interested in āfairnessā. Id rather play against superior opponents then equal or inferior players.
I find this notion of āfairnessā in online competitive gaming to be naive and misleading.
This is an absurd position.
Why? Tbh. in an competitive game you learn to get better, if you face better enemys; only in a casual game this way of thinking doesnāt make sense. So would you say Hots is more an casual game than a competitive one?
No, itās not. Itās how Iāve managed my way through life, sports, and even online competitive gaming. Iāve never been shy to loosing to a superior player and I always use it as a learning opportunity. If you donāt, that says more about you then it does about me.
Ah yes because competitiveness comes from queuing bronze players into masters, they will definitely learn a lot from this instead of facing similar skill and see if they can overcome it.
This is funny, do you go on RPG and be like: Maybe I should start on the final boss? or actually train myself into a decent level before trying so?
This applies to real life, you almost unable to learn anything from a specific high tier course without learning its essentials, learning is gradual steps not a huge jump.
Thereās a difference between fighting someone stronger than you and someone who can annihilate you.
Iām pretty sure you never read this post at this point TBH, what do you think you will get inferior players against you? You learn nothing from this. Just like they wonāt learn anything.
Because there is a difference between playing against someone better than you, and playing against someone who is in a completely different league. If you tried to learn chess by playing against nothing but Grand Masters, you would likely be more discouraged than challenged.
Since both sides get those master players, they might actually learn something, if the master player isnāt an ignorant or a troll though.
I been wanting them to reset something like this for awhile. I like your idea honestly I always thought it would be better to add win bonuses. Like if you win 3+ in a row you get extra points and for each win after that you get even more until you hit a certain rank.
Donāt cherry pick my post and respond to the rest thank you.
Learning is gradual not instantaneous, you donāt start a course by learning the expert version, you start with the beginner one.
Which simply means the higher ranked players would simply group up to avoid getting Bronze players on their teams, and get through the idiocy as fast as possible.
Which basically means that the whole exercise was pointless, and would punish solo queuers even harder. No thanks.
Missed point. Beginners donāt fight masters, because Storm league has a restriction and only after players by passed it can join SL. I also remember that veteran players usually adivce everyone, who ask for help that they shouldnāt start with SL, but rather A.I, QM, Unranked and such.
Why do you choose to have such ridiculous positions? Do you enjoy arguing needlessly?
Then if we put this, what is the point of making everyone bronze?
They did that by making everyone diamond 5, people whoāve been shouting MMR reset got what theyāve been asking for, only to get what they didnāt want to.
Their true place in the ladder
Oh and boosted bronze players with GMs those were something back in the first SL season.
They are doing that now. Its just many players are boosted outside of there rank. Right now the average gold and diamond player are the same. Premades are always gonna rule in this game.
The point is that player right now are boosted outside of there rank and its making the matching just terrible and unplayable. I have hit the point if I do not have at least a 3man premade. its not worth queing for cause too many players are trolling.
Yes, it does.
Competitiveness isnāt always fair. Sometimes you are the underdog. Sometimes you have a guaranteed win. You can go to many gaming tournaments around the world, pay the fee to enter, and be matched up against players of wildly varying skill levels. If you win, you move up in the rankings. If you lose you move down in the rankings. Even the best player in the world can finish in last place, and the most unexpected newcomer can come out the champion. Thatās how competitiveness works.
This āgames must be fair at all costā baloney is the product of a generation of participation trophies where nobody was ever allowed to feel bad about being beat. Itās a terribly philosophy that only breeds players who are never challenged to do better because they have to if they ever want to win.
No dude, thereās not. If you arenāt being annihilated on a regular basis itās because you arenāt challenging yourself and pushing yourself to your limit. If you fear defeat this badly, it means that youāre not really interested in competition or becoming a better player.
Strength is a product of adversity, not of comfort and fairness.
