Missing WoW specs within Heroes

Blood DK (arguably, MalGanis fits)
Unholy DK (Anubarak? But not really)
Shadow Priest (Gall kinda fits)
Bear/Cat Druid (“Feral Druid”)
Elemental Shaman
Gnomish Engineer
Vengeance Demon Hunter (arguably, MalGanis fits again)
Pirate Rogue
Windwalker Monk
Survival Hunter (Zuljin kinda fits here)
Demonology Warlock
Protection Paladin

Do you guys have any takes on these archetypes? I’ll prolly be posting hero concepts for these later in the year, but it’s fascinating to see what specs haven’t been covered in this game yet.

also diablo abilites that could be added, like the frenzy barbarian, which could be put into the D2 Barbarian.
and more from diablo in general

jaina valiant of battle of azeroth before close the chapter, and maybe any other tiers to varyan of the valor Trump of raids and cassia dress snowing.

The main issue with both of these is Arthas is pretty much the only notable DK. He’s kinda central to all the lore there is about them.

Shadow Priests tend to get killed off before they’re particularly relevant. The closest I can think is Xal’atath, and that’s only if they make use of the build-up she’s been getting.

Hammul Runetotem, purely because he’s the only notable non-Nelf druid.

Not a WoW spec.

Same problem as Death Knight. It’s hard to have more notable characters when the class’s whole lore revolves around cosplaying as a specific character.

Either Van-Cleef would work here. I’m leaning towards Vanessa though. We’ve had the Cataclysm rework longer than we had classic, so far more players know her instead of him.

Taran Zhu, because he’s literally the only notable Pandaren left.

Despite being called a beastmaster, Rexar is more of a blend between BM and Survival.

Much like Shadow Priest, Warlock has the long standing issue of not having many notable characters who aren’t killed shortly after showing up on screen.

Best I can think of would be calling Archimonde a warlock and adding him.

Lady Liadrin is the natural choice here. She even has a sword and shield in her offical art https://gamepedia.cursecdn.com/wowpedia/8/8c/Liadrin_Hearthstone.jpg?version=fbbccc72661b96d69c3adcdc6277de5c

And best of all: She’s not another generic human male.

Also, you totally forgot Assassination rogue, which would be Garrona.

Valeera is assassination rogue, while Samuro covers subtlety

Assassination is about DoTs upon DoTs upon DoTs. Valeera has one DoT, and it’s not even that good.

Also, Samuro is not any kind of rogue.

Here’s the specs I think we are missing, and who I think would be the best people to fill those spots. I’m going to plug the ones I’ve made in hyperlinks, since I think the OP might be interested.

DK: Darion can fulfill the rune management that is memorable. Some people suggest Saurfang for blood.

DH: Kayn (Vengeance) was Illidan’s most loyal follower and co-leader of the Illidari. He would also be a belf rep.

Druid: Runetotem could make for a very unique, authentic solar/lunar balance druid based on the tauren mythos. Zen’tabra was the first real troll druid, and is canonically a feral druid. Broll Bearmantle completes Rehgar’s gladiator ring, and wouldn’t conflict with Malfurion artistically if he is bear-exclusive or nigh exclusive.

Hunter: Hemet could be a good petless rep for MM hunter, possibly with traps. Survival could be any number of Hunters, though Huln as a Highmountain tauren rep would be nice, since he was canonically a melee survival hunter.

Mage: Thalyssra would represent the Nightborne, and could easily represent unique arcane mechanics. Alternatively, somebody like Millhouse could bring in authentic Arcane Charge mage. Additionally, Khadgar could be implemented to represent a universalist mage.

Monk: Taran Zhu could fulfill the windwalker role missing as a close range ability-centric melee assassin. For Mistweaver, we could bring in Shaohao as a mistweaver representative, or even do an Aysa and Ji duo character as mistweaver and windwalker, respectively.

Paladin: We should clearly get the iconic Tirion Fordring for retribution paladin, being owner of the legendary Ashbringer and having an interesting history over the game (even while Uther was alive). For protection, Liadrin would be a perfect fit.

Priest: Moira completes the Council of Hammers and is canonically Shadow Priest (even if she casts holy spells occasionally for some reason). Also a dark iron rep.

Rogue: Garona would be the most obvious assassination rogue rep, being a legendary assassin and poison user. Edwin Vancleef could easily fulfill outlaw rogue.

Shaman: Nobundo is the obvious choice for Shaman, bringing in broken rep and being a very special draenei in lore.

Warlock: My only suggestion here is Wilfred Fizzlebang, since he has Jaraxxus behind him and was known as a master summoner. He could bring demonology warlock into the game, since Gul’dan doesn’t have any summoning.

Warrior: We’re done here.

Definitely bolvar for Protection paladins. Edwin Van cleef would be a great one for a combat rogue IMO.

Darian mograine is a perfect character to use though, being the leader of the knights of the ebon blade.

I’m upset that avenging wrath and divine storm, both very iconic ret abilities, were taken already.

Arch bishop benedictus. While his abilities in the battle are all twilight abilities, Canonically the shadow that priests use stems from the void which the old god’s represent.
He would work well as a character to give a bunch of shadow priest skills (Shadow word pain, psychic scream, mind blast, mind flay) to.

The number of warriors in wow is Too damned high!
THAT BEING SAID, the number of sword and board warriors IS low. Almost all the warriors are big two hander or dual wield berserker type characters, with the sword and shield stuff generally being left to paladins. So protection warriors are left in an awkward spot of just having varian’s taunt spec.

About the only really notable one that I can think of is Anduin lothar.
