[HC] Liadrin, Blood Knight Matriarch

Lady Liadrin was the first Blood Elf paladin. Along with the other Blood Knights, they abducted and drained a Naaru for their light; afterwards, after the Naaru resurrected their Sunwell, they grew to use the Light in a healthy manner. Lady Liadrin has stood at the forefront of Blood Elf efforts through many expansions, becoming a staple blood elf in World of Warcraft.

In HotS, Liadrin is a immobile yet unmovable tank, with several healing cooldowns as well as powerful disruption tools. Liadrin specializes in holding down an area, keeping herself safe with self-heals and armor boosts, not requiring her allies to sustain her. She can also defend her allies with several talents.

Universe: Warcraft
Role: Tank

Summon Mount
Z (Mount) – 4 sec Cooldown
Increases your movement speed by 30% while mounted.

Explanation: There is no need for a special mount.

Consecration
Trait (8 sec Cooldown)
Liadrin consecrates the ground in a 5 unit radius around her, which deals 14 (+4% per level) damage to enemies on it while slowing them by 25%. Liadrin’s abilities gain additional effects if used while within her Consecration. Consecration lasts 8 seconds. Only one Consecration can be active at any time.

Explanation: Consecration is a powerful control and zoning tool that secures her as a stationary tank who excels at holding down an area. While powerful on its own, it truly shines with its ability to empower Liadrin’s other abilities.

Tools of the Righteous
Q (4 sec Cooldown)
Every use of this ability switches between Weapon and Shield. Liadrin strikes a 3 unit long, inverted trapezoidal shape in front of her, dealing 120 (+4% per level) damage to enemies hit. If her Weapon is used, enemies hit have their damage reduced by 10% for 3 seconds. If her Shield is used, Liadrin gains 25 Armor for 3 seconds.

Explanation: Tools of the Righteous is Liadrin’s main defensive tool, either boosting her armor or reducing the damage of the enemy. It’s low cooldown gives her surprising staying power as long as she can stay up.

Light of the Protector
W (14 sec Cooldown)
Liadrin heals herself for 120 (+4% per level), plus an additional 25% of her missing health. If used on Consecration, her health is considered 25% lower than it is for the additional healing.

Explanation: Light of the Protector is a clutch self heal that can save Liadrin’s life with proper use. This solid sustain option allows Liadrin to stand on her own for some time, not needing to be healed so much by her healer.

Reckoning
E (10 sec Cooldown)
Liadrin threatens an enemy Hero within 3 range. After a .5 second delay, if the enemy has not damaged Liadrin, they are taunted to her for 1.25 seconds. If used on Consecration, the cooldown is reduced by 3 seconds.

Explanation: Reckoning is another Taunt, similar to Varian’s heroic but with some key differences. While quite powerful, it has a delay on it, allowing enemies to get out of range, or damage her to break the effects. While on Consecration, it’s uptime is drastically increased.

Guardian of Ancient Kings
Heroic #1 (75 sec Cooldown)
Liadrin summons a Guardian of Ancient Kings at a target location within 3 units of her that remains at that location for up to 7 seconds, with 2000 (+4% per level) health. If Liadrin takes fatal damage while within 6 units of the active Guardian, it expends its remaining health to heal her for the amount expended, preventing the death.

Explanation: Guardian of Ancient Kings gives Liadrin some more survivability and makes her even less dependant on her team’s healer. If Liadrin is dying too often, this psuedo-ressurect can help her out…

Divine Sacrifice
Heroic #2 (80 sec Cooldown)
Liadrin blesses her Consecration, immediately refreshing it and empowering it. While allies are within the Consecration, 30% of the damage they take is instead dealt to Liadrin. This damage transfer does not activate while Liadrin is below 20% health.

Explanation: As opposed to self-sustain, Liadrin can choose to defend her team if they decide to stay grouped within her Consecration. While she will be taking a large increase in damage, she has the tools to keep her healthy.

Tier 1

• Projected Consecration: Consecration now has a range of 4, creating the Consecration at the target location.
• Avenger’s Shield: Every 10 seconds, Liadrin’s next basic attack is empowered, granting it 5 range and allowing it to bounce to two additional enemies. All enemies hit are slowed by 25% for 2 seconds.
• Long Arm of the Law: Reckoning’s cast range is increased by 20%, and Liadrin gains 40% increased movement speed for 1.5 seconds after use.

Tier 2

• Bastion of Glory: Every time Tools of the Righteous hits an enemy Hero, Liadrin gains a stack of Glory, which increases the healing of her next Light of the Protector by 20%, stacking up to 3 times.
• Sanctuary: Liadrin gains 15 passive Spell Armor. When she is damaged by an ability, Liadrin restores 10% of her maximum mana. Shield of the Righteous grants her an additional 10 Armor.
• Holy Shield: Every 14 seconds, Liadrin gains 3 stacks of Block, reducing the next instance of physical damage she takes by 75%. Whenever an attack is reduced by Block, her attacker is dealt 40 (+4% per level) damage.

Tier 3

• Sunwell’s Cleansing: Consecration deals 50% increased damage, and while Liadrin is within her Consecration, her basic attacks deal 25% increased damage.
• Crusader’s Strike: When Liadrin hits an enemy with Weapon of the Righteous, her Consecration flares, dealing an additional 88 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies within, applying the damage reduction to all enemies hit.
• Blood Vow: Liadrin’s damage dealt is increased by 1% for every 1% of her maximum health in damage she takes, which lasts for 5 seconds. This can stack and refresh.

Tier 4

• Guardian of Ancient Kings: Liadrin summons a Guardian of Ancient Kings at a target location within 3 units of her that remains at that location for up to 7 seconds, with 2000 (+4% per level) health. If Liadrin takes fatal damage while within 6 units of the active Guardian, it expends its remaining health to heal her for the amount expended, preventing the death.
• Divine Sacrifice: Liadrin blesses her Consecration, immediately refreshing it and empowering it. While allies are within the Consecration, 30% of the damage they take is instead dealt to Liadrin. This damage transfer does not activate while Liadrin is below 20% health.

Tier 5

• Stand Against: While within her Consecration, all disabling effects on Liadrin have 25% less duration. In addition, Liadrin is immune to displacement effects while within her Consecration.
• Crusader’s Light: Tools of the Righteous now has 2 charges. Liadrin’s next basic attack after using Tools of the Righteous deals 50% increased damage.
• Seal of Retribution: When an enemy is taunted to Liadrin with Reckoning, their basic attack damage is increased by 100%, but they also take all damage they deal to Liadrin.

Tier 6

• Eye of Tyr: All allied heroes within Consecration receive 15% increased healing. Upon first cast, this is increased to 30% for 3 seconds.
• Righteous Protector: Damaging an enemy Hero with Tools of the Righteous reduces the cooldown of Light of the Protector by 2 seconds.
• Judgment of Light: Reckoning marks the enemy for 4 seconds, applying 7 stacks. Whenever Liadrin or an allied hero deals damage to the enemy, a stack is consumed to heal the attacker for 30 (+4% per level) health.

Tier 7

• Ardent Protector: Guardian of Ancient Kings grants Liadrin 25 additional Armor while it is active. This Armor can stack with other Armor effects. If not killed or consumed within the duration, Guardian of Ancient King consumes its power to refresh Liadrin’s abilities upon expiring.
• Glory to the Sin’dorei: Divine Sacrifice naturally increases the radius of Consecration by 10%. When empowered by Divine Sacrifice, Liadrin’s Consecration radius is increased by 50% and Liadrin is healed by 10 (+4% per level) health every .25 seconds while within.
• Righteous Fury: Every time Liadrin basic attacks an enemy Hero that has not damaged her in the last 2 seconds, the cooldown of Reckoning is reduced by 4 seconds.
• Hand of the Protector: Light of the Protector has a 30% reduced cooldown, and can now be used on allied heroes within her Consecration.

I really love this idea! Lady Liadrin would for sure be my most expected heroe to come in the Nexus. I also see her exactly like that OP description, a strong tank with lots of healing or buffs for her allies.

As another notable paladin, that would be a great melee assassin classe, would be Turalyon.

One of both would be great!

We know that next one won’t be a tank (Mei just came out) therefore it’s very very unlikely Lady Liadrin could be released anytime soon. We can only hope.

Now we got three Paladins:
Uther - Support Paladin
Yrel - Tank Paladin
Liadrin - Attack Paladin

Hey, didn’t you used to have a thread where you compiled all of your Hero Concepts?

Yrel is a weird Bruiser type that seems to be trying to represent Ret paladin but kind of fails at doing so. I’d love to see Tirion as a melee assassin and Liadrin to come in as a solid main Tank.

I did indeed. I reached about 80ish concepts by the time the changed the forums to a new location. Since then, I’ve worked on updating all of my old concepts to move over to the new forums, as well as releasing a whole slew of new concepts. The new forums has a convenient (if limited) option to see every post by someone, so I haven’t felt the need to make a compilation thread on the new forums. If you want to see some of the old designs updated up to better designs, they should all be under my profile.
