I like current Tassadar

Look, I know he’s not perfect but I’m a little worried about the impending rework. There’s a lot I like about him currently and I’m just worried he’ll lose the stuff I enjoy. I love the walls and oracle. They give his kit so much fun utility. I also really enjoy his AA build.

When I look at Tassadar, I see a fun and useful hero that just lacks in direct support. His barrier seems to be the only thing that feels off. When it comes to getting him reworked this is pretty much all I want adjusted.

What do you guys like or hate about the current Tassadar? When the rework drops, what do you want to change or stay?

Yeah, sadly the “I want to play Tassadar in every composition”-fraction has won. The devs can’t take it anymore and instead of staying firm, buy them the sweets to stop the crying. :frowning:

I allready see his utility vanish. I love him as he is - praktically unkillable with his E, - his enormous waveclear and poke through speccing into psystorm, that always let’s him end up with top siegedmg and mostly top hero dmg, - his ability to detect flanks / stealth through oracle, - and his plasmashield to support the healer and safe teammates.
If he keeps all of this and maybe just gains some more viable talent options, he will not be destroid, but I fear the worst after we were told he’s gonna be turned into an assassin.

I get that people want to be able to pick him more. He is fun but he doesn’t really fit a full support slot. He certainly can’t fill in for a ranged assassin either. I feel like if he just got some kind of change or rework to the barrier the vast majority of his kit could stay…

Yes and that is what makes him be in two states:

  1. Okay in some niche scenarios but bad everywhere
  2. OP is some niche scenarios and okay everywhere else.

This is the problem with his design right now/previously.

I only started playing at the beginning of last year. What is Tassadar’s balance history?

I… agree.
I have used to his kit. I think some talent rework would fix him.
Example if fix those talents

And buff Tassadar’s Max hp and dmg, he would be less niche.

These are pretty thought out. I already like how resonation and phase disruption work and don’t think they need changes.

I’m not sure I completely understand how your vision of Khaydarin resonance would work. Why is this better that what’s in game now? I kinda think the barrier just needs to be completely changed or even replaced.

I don’t really take shield battery but this would be an interesting idea. I personally wouldn’t use it as the additional AA targets or wall spam is just too much fun in comparison

I think he definitely needs some slightly higher HP. I would be fine with his current damage if the AA quest was baseline or stayed after his rework.

I want to play Tassadar thus I’m in favor of reworking him. His design even currently is fine but his numbers would need heavy tweaking which will never happen. I could never bring myself to pick Tassadar in his current state, doing something that awful to my team would be just nasty. Both Medivh and Zarya babysit and enable heroes much better than Tass. Even with AA carry they work better which should be niche for Tass. Only things Tass does better than them is slows he brings and solo lane capability, neither of which justifies actually picking him.
Tass has been dead in high level and pro games for long time now but Blizz won’t buff him because they fear another shield or double support meta coming again(read: they are incompetent).

I like current Tassadar abilities, I just dislike the fact that he has basically only one build.

I think with the rework, shield will be gone. They said they will make him a mage, so I guess he will lose most of his support aspects.

Current Tassadar is a trash. It is a sentry unit that dressed up like High Templar hero.

Hope that the Tassadar rework will make him a proper (or generic) assassin and usable hero. Generic assassin that work at 90% situation > a niche hero that only work at specific composition or situation.

inB4 player with high win rate for Tassadar came to disagreed with me. If that is the case, let’s me congrat you for being a part of 42% win rate instead of opposite side.

He has W build, AA build with flex talents. But I’d like if Q build would be a thing.

I love force wall and will be sad if it goes. But force wall is great in part because he doesn’t do much damage. If he is a mage who does a lot of damage, force wall will be too strong.

I’d rather keep him similar to what he is and just tweak some talents. I guess you could replace shield with a small heal. Then his shields won’t be overpowered with dive heroes, and he could be picked more often as a main support.

Ah yeah, you could do lots of different builds, but if you look at composition/draft + high level of play + playing him optimally, W build is always the go to.

Why is that? Because W offers poke + waveclear, which is usually what you need when you draft a hypercarry comp. Archon is also 99% the pick because it offers more damage (which you also usually need with a hypercarry comp.) + and E reset for safety + same thing with Odin or Alex Dragon (you want to force the enemy to play into you when you use them).

You could go other builds? Yeah, but then you are probably putting your team in a disadvantage, even though they could work from time to time.

I feel the same thing when it comes to D.Vas upcoming rework, I’m worried they are going to ruin her talent diversity with the rework which is something I don’t want to see happening.

I understand that she’s “”“trash”"" for everyone but I hope they don’t remove her bully nature playstyle which I loved, unless we get something similar to the Lunara rework then I’m all ok with it.

What i would love tass to get :

  • Hallucination.
I get tass is inspired heavily from the sentry but even the sentry has hallucination lol xD

Iv been saying this for a while, be careful what you wish for! I simply do not trust Blizzards ability to rework heroes.

I felt Tass was fine and probably my favorite “support” even though he really is a specialist. I love heroes that can do a little of everything and Tass can do it all. He can wave clear, he can shield, he can build walls or go ham with archon while also escaping any bad situation, a truly versatile hero who will most likely be ruined by a rework.

Hope i’m wrong though.

I will say though if they change his kit drastically they should release his rework along with the new Sentry hero. Would be pretty cool.

I am fed up of having tassadar take the flak because of his shields making tracer or hanzo or whatever squishy ignore that they have low hp.
This may be drastic and we may not like the result but i do think it may be what is necessary.

He is an enabler, a full “support” but not a “healer”. With him in the group instead of a second assassin togeather with your healer, the main tank and the sololaner / bruiser it is possible to pick bruisers / assassins that have high dmg potential but usally can’t unfold it without risking being killed.

Best examples for this are Valla / Greymane as assassin, Illidan in a bruiser role. The 1st two can deal anough dmg to be a hypercarry (solo assassin), but only if they get some support besides a simple tank / healer.
Tassadar also enables “healers” that are usally not 1st choice material (in higher leagues) because they lack for example “on demand” healing - like Auriel (if a teamfight starts - she mostly lacks hope), burst heal on a target of choice that isn’t right besides the healer - like Lili. That’s why those two healers were mostly paired with Tassadar or Medivh in proplay.

And I disagree with you on the point that Tassadar can’t fill in for a ranged assassin. With Archon and psystorm build he easily can get as much poke dmg as Junkrat; he just needs a “real” assassin with him that can burst and finish off one target that has been poked down by him (like for example Greymane).

They just need to give her some selfsustain besides blowing up her mech unneededly only to get a full health mech back … and prober heroics / a third basicability instead of mech explosion. Bunnyhop and BigShot should be combined into one heroic (chanching based on the mode she is in) and maybe the mech explosion (which is only usefull on few maps anyways) as the 2nd heroic.

Because he’s both too niche and doesn’t fill the fantasy of a high templar, simple as that.
