Just because you are unique does not mean that you are useful. There have been plenty of unique talents in the game that are neat, but simply are so very limited in their use that it is near useless to have the talent in the first place. In fact, most reworks remove these niche talents as choices and usually integrate them in other ways as a trait or folding it into other talents.
I honestly think most of the people complaining about reworks or changes are people who have been heavily invested in those specific things that were changed, and lack the strategic/tactical flexibility and the deeper understanding of the gameās workings to really prosper. The mechanics the people lost were the only things that enabled them to win, now that they are gone the complainers have to adapt or loseā¦ They refuse to adapt, instead complaining and saying that things need to go back or itāll kill the gameā¦
Ammo was removed, yes. It was kinda unique, yes. But that uniqueness was bad for the game.
Stealth on the other hand wasnāt removed and for a lot of players the only change that it received was gaining true invisibility after standing still for 3 seconds. Since a ton of players (like me) saw old stealth as clearly as we do with the new version. They just made it more consistent (so itās again, donāt destroy the average or the lower league players) and buffed it with true invisibility for tactical usage.
Tell me why removing uselful talents like a spell shield are good thing for mode where we have most unbalanced (+without mirrors) matchmaking? Flexibility is most important thing for this mode, i donāt see real reasons why they must be removed.
Iām talking about QM but anyway i think talents like spell shields is very uselful in any mode but had greater impact in QM than in another (mirror heroes we had only in QM).
The devs themselves have said that the QM mode is inherently unbalanced. You donāt get to know what map youāre on, you donāt get to choose your team comp, and you donāt get to plan for your opponents team comp.
?
Care to elaborate? You doubt that I saw old stealth well or you doubt that many players saw that?
If you asked any good streamer/pro gamer why stealth Heroes were ābadā, they said that their biggest advantage (being hard to be seen) is non existent at their lvl.
This. Knocking aside the fact that responding to a claim with a badly implemented meme is just not a counterargument in any definition of the termā¦ Itās like no one reads patch notes, or even pays attention to what pro level players say about the game.
Ironic, really, to say pro-level gaming is critical, yet not remember what the professional level players say about mechanics like Stealth.
K. You are full of it if you tell me you canāt even tell the difference between old and new stealth, or are convinced you never missed a stealth hero on screen
Old stealth was too punishing at low levels. But it is still not useless. Nobody can pay 100% attention to everything going on on the screen at the same time. Old stealth tested your capability to pay attention. It did not catch your eye, you had to be on the look out for it. It was also sometimes hard to tell exactly where they were to hit them with a skillshot, because it was sometimes unclear where their hitbox was
It has been scientifically proven that humans cannot multitask. You can swap between doing two things on regular intervals, but the brain canāt process two different trains of thought at once
There was a shimmer, similar to the effect you would see in the Predator movies (which the devs noted that differing hardware would actually change the look of, which is something that shouldnāt impact the game) and you couldnāt be fired on by the towers/fortsā¦ That was the old one.
The new one is more easily noticed, but itās a clear character model, you are unable to be directly targeted, but any damage taken would knock you out of stealth. If you stayed put for a small period of time, you went COMPLETELY invisible. You could also be detected by towers.
The old one, as the devs AND pro players stated, was simply an eye vision testā¦ Once you passed it, it lost a lot of itās potency. Under the new style, proper positioning (through the complete invisibility anywhere trait) and proper utilization of genuine distractions would enable a genuinely capable player more options under the new stealth rules, while also punishing poor stealth tactics that were detrimental to lesser-skilled players still learning the game.
Bottom line, if you thrived under the old stealth rules, yet cannot get the same result from the new onesā¦ the problem isnāt the game. The problem isnāt your targetā¦ That leaves just one person.
Lol, or to ppl who eat while theyāre watching a series or chewimg gum and walking at the same time.
(Btw I was a drummer.)
Scientifically talking, not even computers are able to truly multitask.
But that doesnāt mean comps and humans canāt switch back on forth quickly enough to make it seem like that. (Also muscle memory.)
Whatās truly proven, that humans usually do things worse in āmultitaskingā than they could otherwise.
But mobas and rts is about multitasking and quick reactions. Itās about who gets the least worse from splitting their attention.
Its silly because the same person who complains about Valeera being nerfed due to ālow rank l2p issueā complains about same mechanic in different game (same engine). And its l2p issue.
I wouldnt even bother reading it if it wasnt him lol
the mechanic is heinous. stealth is just for noob stomping and completely useless if you bother to make any meaningful detection, which isnāt hard at all. It needs to be changed into something with an actual purpose outside cheesing your enemy.
But everybody misses some things. You arenāt always paying attention to everything which means something can slip unnoticed.
