[HC] Vorazun, Matriarch of the Nerazim

Vorazun is an awesome character from the Starcraft series, and one that many say can’t be added to the game due to Zeratul. I think the character is very different in playstyle and personality, with a different stance, weapon, and silhouette. Vorazun was never the greatest stand-alone fighter, preferring subterfuge and assisting her allies as opposed to being in the frontline.

In Hots, Vorazun specializes in pairing with an ally and making them into a lethal stealth assassin. With her Shadow Assault and her Veil of Darkness, Vorazun is incredibly hard to catch, and can become a pest for the enemy team with her Stasis Ward and the damage dealt by Shadow Assault. It is important to note that none of her abilities breaks her out of stealth. As opposed to most stealthed characters, she is much harder to kill, but cannot kill enemies like the others.

Universe: Starcraft
Role: Support

Summon Mount
Z (Mount) – 4 Second CD
Increases your movement speed by 30% while mounted.

Explanation: There is no need for a special mount.

Veil of Darkness
Trait (Passive)
Vorazun shrouds herself in shadows after being out of combat for 3 seconds, stealthing her. While stealthed, she generates a 18 (+4% per level) shield every .5 seconds, maxing at a 288 shield after 8 seconds. Voarazun cannot be revealed by taking damage while her shield is active (damage that breaks the shield will properly reveal her). Her stealth is broken by basic attacking or taking damage to her health.

Explanation: Vorazun’s take on stealth is the key to her kit and probably the thing that will bother people to no end. Unlike other stealthed heroes, Vorazun can stay in stealth for quite a while, and multiple AoE’s are required to break her stealth. An important thing to note is that casting abilities does not break her stealth.

Shadow Assault
Q (12 sec Cooldown)
Vorazun targets a 5 unit radius area within 7 units and creates an invisible ring around that area after .5 seconds, disappearing. Every .5 seconds for 2.5 seconds, Vorazun strikes a 1.5 unit radius area within the ring, based on her current cursor location. Any enemy hit is dealt 110 (+4% per level) damage and is slowed by 50% for .5 seconds. Enemies hit multiple times are dealt 50% damage after the first. Vorazun is untargetable while striking, and reappears at her last strike’s location.

Explanation: Shadow Assault is Vorazun’s signature ability from her campaign, able to shred large groups of enemies and making her untargetable for a short time. The slow allows her to keep enemies pinned down in the area. It is important to know that enemies cannot see the ring.

Enter the Void
W (10 sec Cooldown)
Vorazun copies her Veil of Darkness onto an ally for 10 seconds, placing them into stealth and granting them a shield equal to Vorazun’s. Unlike Vorazun, taking damage or dealing damage breaks the ally from stealth, but as long as they have the shield, they can restealth after not taking or dealing damage for 2 seconds.

Explanation: Enter the Void is how Vorazun supports. She will be constantly bringing allies into stealth with her and shielding them, making it all the more important to keep Vorazun’s shield amount the highest it can be. It is important to note that there is no periods of time where the ally is unrevealable, so any attacks will pop them out of stealth immediately.

Stasis Ward
E (14 sec Cooldown)
Vorazun tosses a stasis ward in a 3 unit long target direction. If it hits an enemy Hero, they are placed into Stasis for 2 seconds.

Explanation: Several characters in the game have ways to stasis the entire enemy team for massive plays, but Vorazun would bring a close-range, skill-shot, single-target stasis on a single enemy to the mix. This helps Vorazun remove dangerous enemies from the battle for a very short time as your team kills the rest of them. The ability has many other uses, such as saving an ally (or yourself), or removing a tank so that you can catch out a squishy.

Abduction
Heroic #1 (25 sec CD)
Vorazun blinks to a target location within 8 units, and after a .5 second duration, return to her original location. All enemy heroes within 3.5 radius of Vorazun after the .5 delay are pulled back to Vorazun’s start location with her.

Explanation: Abduction gives Vorazun a powerful displacement tool that allows her to jump in and grab an important enemy, bringing it back to her allies to quickly kill. This cannot be used as an escape, however.

Void’s Embrace
Heroic #2 (100 sec CD)
Vorazun grants all nearby allies complete invisibility (no shimmer) for 2 seconds. While invisible, allies cannot attack or cast abilities but their movement speed is increased by 50%. During invisibility and for 3 seconds afterwards, allies gain a 400 (+4% per level) health shield.

Explanation: Void’s Embrace instead offers a massive teamfight benefit, allowing your entire team to re-position. The large shield during and after the stealth makes them even harder to kill after they pop out to continue the fight.
