Well that is your prerogative. Interesting to know you hate OTPs so much. I guess I’ll remove you from my friendlists; i’ll probably be doing you a favour.
But if you have no meat, you end up with CC but no damage.
Lamp could work even with no meat if you have good teamwork and/or synergy. But let’s be honest, if someone has only around 10~~ by level 10, then either the Butcher sucks or there’s no teamwork to rely on for Lamp ults.
A butcher that has no meat and lamp ulti is way more reliant on his own team, rather than being the one getting the picks.
Personally I see Furnance Blast (That is the name right) as a sort of “in case no meat, break glass” ultimate.
I think I put my point just enough across. They are good at their hero, but they also seem to unable to debate or hold on why they go such build in the first place, or explaining why, seeing this constantly is what hurted my persective.
I know few OTPs who know how to present it well enough, such as Munky (Samuro) or MBee (Valeera) and even you, but its just a rare sight.
I always try to listen to new one tricks I meet on the way, but my expectations are just low sadly.
We can agree to disagree, but I’d rather have the generalist more than the one trick if I ever run into Storm League again.
I don’t know why you take this at heart like this. As pointed by Sami himself, he discussed some generality and not a precise situation. If you “fear” (not the most suited word but I think it is understanble) that he is a stubborn/elitist and whatever negative adjective you can put here, I don’t feel it is the case. I think he can distinguish people based on actual discussion. It seems he has no problem with making fun of people (who isn’t?), but it seems he doesn’t have diffuclty either to distinguish the generality from the specifics.
Generally, bad players give bad advice. But not all of them (that would be me ) give bad advice. As a “proof”:
He seemed to have appreciate what I wrote even if I am a bad player. In his response, he may have been overboard with the way he expressed himself. But a little bit of a discussion cleared the misunderstanding (see a little bit further in my wonderful post about masterful advices)
He really doesn’t seem to be that uni dimensional as you think at the moment. I let you see for yourself if, maybe, you can rethink about it.
he himself said that he doesn’t even intend to distinquish; he wants absolutely nothing to do with OTPs because of bad experiences with them before. He admitted it himself that it’s illogical.
I don’t wish to play with such a person. There’s quite a lot of OTPs on my friendlist too, so there’d obviously be some conflicts there.
If you ask me, his perspective feels shallow. I didn’t intend to say it before.
It borders on discrimination; to be prejudiced towards a complete stranger, before a single word has been spoken, simply because that person is a OTP.
I don’t want anything to do with such a person, honestly.
it doesn’t make it okay in my book to trash talk one group but it’s all okay because he admits that a very very small part of that group is ok.
For all intents and purposes, he probably insulted half of my friendlist.
Do you define as an OTP?
It seems like your taking at heart the fact that someone has bad experience with OTPs.
I am pretty sure nearly everyone has had probably both bad and good experiences with OTPs.
Having a dislike to something doesn’t mean that everyone has to get offended by it.
Why not be the one to showcase OTPs in a good spotlight rather than take offense to someone with a bad experience.
IRL if someone has had a bad experience with a race different to their own, would you then blame them for being mad at the race, or would you then as someone representing the race prove the opposite fact, and say “That is a small part of our race that doesn’t define us all as the people we are.”
Instead of kinda counter playing his attitude towards you your accepting the fact that that is his view which can not be changed.
You are misunderstanding the entire problem here Ngin.
My problem isn’t that he’s had bad experiences with OTPs and didn’t like that.
My problem is that because of his bad experiences, he’s now prejudiced towards OTPs to the point where he puts the same negative labels on all OTPs, except for a few. He admits himself that it’s illogical, but doesn’t care.
Well, if somebody literally went something like this:
(Just insert a random race of your choosing where I write blank.)
“Bloody hell I hate all those (BLANK). They’re all just such a bunch of ignorant losers. Ugh, I hate it… I HATE IT!! When a (BLANK) sits next to me on the bus. ANYTHING BUT (Blank) is fine. Seriously, they are all a bunch of egotistical maniacs. Except for like 1-2 guys I know myself, they can all just go to hell!”
Then I would not involve myself with that person.
And that’s exactly what I did.
This whole thing borders on racism. To judge and put hate on a group for the actions of individuals of that group.
This whole discussion is going places now with that racism/prejudice comparison, why I cannot express my negative experience with one tricks that I’ve both talked and played with a lot frequently?
I’ve given a lot of them a chances and I’m very patient person myself to not get frustrated from one occasion, but to have it multiple times becomes tiresome more than anything else, my expectations are held low because of it, its not your or someone else fault but them sure, but the constant ego seems to be frequent.
Exactly, which is kinda my point.
I wouldn’t accept someone being a racist because that is not right (Which is kinda different to this case as that is a more serious thing that is unacceptable), but i wouldn’t shove them away for that either.
I’d accept their view on the world, but rather convince them otherwize on how their view on a small group within that race has showed them a negative side which doesn’t represent how they act.
I do believe that neglecting someone with a negative view rather than accepting and changing them would backfire negativly on the world, which is why kids that gets bullied and doesn’t get the “help” they need often end up doing something drastic and bad.
But i do agree with Sami, this discussion is going unessesary places.
I do stil think this is an extremly odd way to push someone away because of their views.
You can see it that way if you want. But when I asked about it and said I felt his view is illogical, and he agreed with me, that tells me that he knows he’s wrong but doesn’t care at all.
To begin with, I really don’t like that attitude in general; to generalize a group because of the actions of a few. And then he admits he knows he’s being illogical.
There’s plenty for me not to like. And I do have the privilege like every other human, although most don’t realize, of being able to choose your friends.
Long story short; I really don’t like people who are like this and I see no reason why I should force myself to associate with a person I don’t want to. If you see me a lesser being for that, then so be it.
I mean, you were definitely a Tassadar OTP, before. but I thought you only play fenix now?
