Generalist vs OTP, which is the best player?

I would, but at some point I stopped to play hots and moved into Dota 2 back.
I still play hots sometimes. But much rare.

Because you were not just “expressing a negative experience”. You were simply insulting an entire group of people. It doesn’t help that you say “MOST OF THEM are like that” or “There’s a few people who are ok”.

Do you really think that this counts as “expressing my negative experience with onetricks”?

This is just directly slander. Insults to a large group of players.

Expressing dissatisfaction with individuals who happened to be OTP is one thing. But you seem to be expressing dissatisfaction with every single OTP out there, even those whom you haven’t met.

And that is where the problem is.

You aren’t saying “I really don’t want to play or talk to that annoying tracer one trick pony that gave terrible advice”

You’re saying “I don’t want to play or talk to any OTP”

Do you think it’s fine for such discriminatory statements?

Would it make sense to you, anywho, if I had a bad experience with, I don’t know, a tank main? And because he was a prideful jerk, now it’s only normal to put hate on all tank mains?

You yourself agreed with me that it’s illogical. If you know that you are being illogical, then why do think that it’s normal? okay? Why should we even listen to you in this thread, when you have a MASSSSIIIVEE BIAS against OTP? Every single word you wrote could be nonsensical hate-fueled rage typing for all intents and purposes, since we know that your stance against them has become so bad to become illogical.

You kept insulting OTPs in general and then you are surprised when people find that problematic?

i think ive learned enough.

i appreciate this post and perspective, you are very much correct, it is outright illogical to use the actions of few to point it on the many.

ill consider this and hope to improve myself.

I am very glad to hear it, Sami.

And I’m sorry if i went too far with my wording.

That’s a kind of hubris to assume that you know what’s better for them. I mean they very well could be stubborn, I for sure am. But I’m also the one that has played all my games and knows my skillset better than you.

I mean I see you do this often on the forums arguing about talents where you’re just so sure of yourself, which is fine, you can have your opinions. But, to call someone else stubborn is a bit ironic.

Just wanted to say, I missed your posts Narha. Even if I don’t agree 100%, they’re always thought out and cut through the BS.

If you practice many things, you can transfer bad practices between many heroes.

Sorry could not help myself 8)

Quite frankly, I think you both have a gone a bit too far.

In terms for Sami’s opinion, there are very few OTPs or people who just generalized on one hero for one specific strategy to keep them going, and that forces people to generalize their picks to be built around said OTP or person.

It is definitely annoying if the “OTP” plays only one hero though.

As for Narha, you did seem to have gone overboard on that, it is their opinion for their experience after all, Sami did however generalize almost every OTP.

and I am an OTP (Oblivious Turned Player), which is generally offending.

In my experience, flexibility and creativity has almost always dominated one trick ponies but not so much so that OTPs don’t exist at high ranks.
And this goes for most games ive played, not just hots.

Only if you practice poorly.
Looking at the minimap is important with every hero, getting better at that will probably help a bad player more than getting better at the different Artanis swaps or whatever.
Or getting better at positioning, prioritizing targets, knowing the range of enemy/ally abilities (which I guess is part of positioning), knowing how to use vision blockers to set up ambushes or juke, anticipating your opponent’s actions.
There are just a lot of general skills where it’s better to improve those over any hero specific knowledge or skills, unless you’re nearer the better end of players.

52.4%, not amazing but not below 50 at least.
103 games, only QM, only solo.
KDA 5.26
Average takedowns 13.54.
Thumb trackball mouse if that matters.
