Why I quit HS many years ago

I dunno.

It looks like the forums regulars (those I called ‘core audience’… myself exluded, of course :grinning:, I mostly do writing exercises for the brain here nowadays ) are few, probably just a very small fraction of active players, and most of them are… strange.

In the light of what’s been said above, I wouldn’t exclude even this possibility.

Oh, and come to think of it: Hate this game and hate playing it — I think such topics are aplenty.

Nah, mon, I’d say it’s more about primal instincts of the local herd. Neophobia, pack hierarchy and whatnot, coupled with generally low levels of education, logic, literacy (and thus general intelligence, you could say) and such — this community is an interesting case for ethology, I think, but I wouldn’t look for a rational motive behind their usual behaviour.

PS Oh, I nearly missed something: that deleted topic wasn’t criticising the game itself — rather, it was about low mental faculties of its players on average. :grinning:

It doesn’t matter, big brothers starting with G or F are following you everywhere anyway. Of course, some modern browsers have cookie and cache partitioning, which might help a bit, but still… Besides, that’d be quite a lot of clutter in your browser. :grinning:

And factually incorrect, I’d say. See below for an example.

It’s so much more than just aggro — it’s much of the game’s design principles in general. For example, a quick and sarcastic summary: The game needs more 'disruption', OTKs and solitaires (I think I might have posted more on this, but I can’t find it — as said, entire topics tend to get just wiped, maybe that’s been the case, too, and right now I don’t feel like writing it all in detail again ). As for why they’ve been doing it and are bound to keep going, see this post, for example: Im so ready for 2025 core set - #19 by SparkyElf-2852 .

Alright, lemme at least post this again, since it has apparently been deleted, too:

Leeroy Jenkins created a strategy that revolved around trying to defeat your opponent in one turn without requiring any cards on the board. We like having a variety of deck types but taking 20+ damage in one turn is not very fun or interactive.

Nowadays, this wound sound ridiculous (and that 20 damage in particular would be ‘too little’) — this just goes to show how much the game has changed, no, ‘progressed’ in general. Some players here have been seriously talking like, “I’m okay with a turn 4 (5, 6) OTK for 120+ damage, but perhaps doing it on turn 3 is a little bit too much”.

PS As for player numbers again — I don’t know, as said, they haven’t published data about it. We don’t even know for sure about the ‘player base shrinking so badly’ — paradoxically, it could be the other way around.
