Yeah, I am agnostic on introducing new class too. It will have some advantages (new ways to play are always interesting) and flaws (increased cost to get all the cards, harder meta to balance).
I just think that the Melnroh’s arguments are bad. At the end of the day it’s just a theoretical discussion, it’s unlikely that Team 5 has willingness or manpower to introduce a new class.
I wouldn’t get my hopes up for sure. They only bought Blizzard for two Reasons. CoD and little mobile game that makes billions every year. Everything else is secondary at this point.

Ben Brode is no longer working on Team 5 so his HS philosophy has nothing to do with modern Team 5 design philosophy. As has been proved by many decisions in the last couple of years.
Ben Brode helped create the game that others defiled.
His philosophy is literally embedded in the code.
Funny when I google this, all i can find is BB saying “no plans for new classes AT THIS POINT IN TIME.”

I have learned to expect nothing from this corporation. I had hopes when MS acquired it, but I can see now they have no intentions for improving anything. If it wound up in maintenance mode, I should not be surprised.

That is all fine and dandy but has no bearing on modern HS. Brode is not an oracle whose word is the law. Even if he did say that 9 classes is the divine number and the Event Horizon portal will open if there is another class added who cares? Yes, modern HS has a slew of problems but it’s not as Brode’s era was perfect.
When we are talking “Should Team 5 add new classes?” the answer “No, Because Ben Brode says so” is a fallacy and a very weak argument. Seriously, when I am seeing what is happening in Marvel Snap as a customer the last thing I am thinking is “That Ben Brode and team can do no wrong”.
