Hearthstone still missing two classes from WoW and wonder if blizzard will ever add one of them.
Im curious if they will as well. Just not sure what the hero power will look like for either classes.
Seems to take em a good while to release a new class
Game started around Spring 2014
DK got added around Summer 2017
DH got added around Spring 2020
Now if they were to keep the past timelineās general pattern yeah we should probly have had Monk about a year ago, but i got no idea if they even attempting to work on either class. If they talked about it i generally donāt keep up with behind the scenes news.
Some people say that adding one or both of the classes will just add more chaos to an already imbalanced game, but iām like yeah but since the game is already crazy, making the game a lil more crazy aināt gonna be the end of the world lol plus the game never been truly balanced to begin with
The bigger issue is adding more cards to the pool each expansion, which dilutes your purchasing power.
They need to add another card to the packs at this point.
I donāt think thereās any design space left.
Personally I think DH and DK are already nicheless classes
The reasons are many:
First of all the money going to HS has been scaled back for last year or two: modes killed, esports rewards slashed, design people let go or moved to other Blizzard projects. Itās possible that Team 5 does not have money or manpower needed to design and introduce new class.
Second, design space. It is difficult to introduce a new class to a 10 years old game. Even if Team 5 was designing monk or evoker theyād need a lot of time to finish it. So maybe they are working on it we just are not aware. Unlikely but possible.
Lastly, logistics from the monetisation standpoint. People are already complaining that HS costs too much. 13 extra cards each expansion is not only extra work for design team but also extra money/dust to get those cards.
So all in all itās possible that they will introduce new classes but I would not hold my breath waiting.
The Death knight hero cards were part of Knights of the Frozen Throne not the class
Death Knight the class officially selectable in December of 2022 with March of the Lich King
hahahahahahahaha
Evoker? Lmao, thatās some retail WoW BS. Literally made-up nonsense not present in the lore of Warcraft anywhere. Keep that failed garbage theme reduced to the dying husk of a game that retail WoW is. The gameplay wasnāt the only thing retail WoW ruined; it was also the lore and characters.
Stupid cringe humanoid goofy-a$$ dragons.
No, the last thing the game needs is another class. Death Knight and Demon Hunter just made the game worse. If thereās ever āHearthstone 2,ā both of those need to go. removed along with 99% of the stupid ādiscover, rush, general random cardsā
Retail* WoW* has two classes that shouldnāt exist*
Considering the amount of useless neutrals we have latelyā¦
They could just reduce the neutrals.
idk how you add more classes.
They cannot balance what they have, and they have zero design space now.
Imho there are only 3 playstyles in this game.
Aggro, control, and combo.
Eleven does not work, and neither will thirteen.
They never should have printed them. All they did was ruin the symmetry.
what in the actual capital F is Evoker?
the Dracthyr are a perfect draconic army that Neltharion (deathwing before he was crazy) engineered using the sources available to them. Evokers are elite members of that Dracthyr caste that use dragonflight magic (dream magic, bronze time magic, fire and frost from red and blue dragons, earth stuff too) to basically be a budget mage in mail armor to be the perfect armyā¦ but they were deactivated for 10,000 (yes they really repeated this plot again) and have to find their place in the new Azeroth.
As far as their identity in Hearthstone goes? Theyād probably be some sort of mix between what weāve seen of rainbow shaman, mage, and maybe add in some minion buffs (Evokers own the first ever true support spec thatās NOT a healer, which revolves around buffing party members).
Monk wouldnt be that hard. Just have them go hard into combos and cards that gain effects when your hero power is used multiple times in a row. That could be something like āDeal 1 damage to a random minion. Gain +1 damage for each turn you used this power in a row.ā That way you cant win a game with it, but its a valid way to keep board pressure on while you combo attacks to the face with your class cards.
Their keyword could be āTaijutsu: This card deals additional damage for each Taijutsu card used before it this turnā
It would just be a DK that used some weird new system to build the deck. Thatās how Monk and DK are in WoW and i would imagine they would adapt it that way. Not exactly something new and exciting IMO.
On the flip side they would get to charge more per set because they would have to expand the size of the expansions and miniās.
It would just be a knockoff of something that already exists and frankly, we already have too much copycat going on.
We need less classes, not more. This game was only designed for nine.
Thatās a solution, too, but you still have the issue of not getting cards for the class youāre looking for every time they dilute the pool.
We have useless neutrals since the beginning as we had useless class cards forever. They need pack filler so they sell more packs, they are never cutting the number of useless cards, in that respect CCGās companies are like Kamala Harris: They never go back.
So are they the Dragon humanoids but not Dragonkin? Or are they the cool stone people from the cinematic?
If the Evoker class is mainly about being a party buff support class and not a main damage dealer/ mitigate Threat / Healsā¦ I;d just make a Duos Hero in BGs be an Evoker type hero power.
Monk I can see as a new version of Rogue but its power can be used twice per turn. Make it like how Renoās Hero power does. I see something sorta like a power that adds 1 attack to your hero on the first time its used per turn, cost 2. and if you press the hero power again for another 2 it adds 3 attack. Or something along those lines. or, this:
Cost 2: Your hero can attack two minions this turn.
So you rely on other cards to give your hero attack power as it isnt defaulted by the power being used. But equip a weapon or spells or minions that give you attack, swing at enemy face if you can. then hero power, swing at 2 minions as well that same turn. Burns weapons out quickly this way but I doubt those would be the main way it gains attack as a class.
