That’s something that all forums are going over to. Quite a while ago, it was removed from the WoW forums as an experiment, and it seems that Bliz is going forward with it.
As to why, they outlined it in here. (The last paragraph is obsolete in the new forums.)
Reddit will still be the main thing being used.
Yup - and in today’s world of Social Media being used as a means to soft-censor opinions rather than discuss/learn things it is a sad necessity. Too many people use up/down votes as a means to quash discussion rather than actually discuss things.
So if people are unhappy at the removal of downvotes, then they really have no one to blame but themselves for abusing the tool. Human beings are routinely and regularly proving that they were not (and still are not) ready for the responsibility inherent in Social Media communication tools.

older forums used to have the option to follow up on your own created topics… does the new forum have it? also, the activity function on the profile seems to not include any of my messages (or is it not meant to?)
Our posting history was reset with the new forum software (Discourse). So your Activity shows you only have one post.
You would have to go to the old battle.net forum to see your old posts.
Loving the new Hearthstone Discourse forums, the interface is intuitive and brings back fond memories at the same time.

good job, seems user friendly, 1 intake if i may, the report a bug part is a bit difficult to find, also hope blizzards customer support gets up to par, since i feel forum is not enough in some cases to get help you need, since i feel staff at customer support doesnt really want to help you, which is why i like forum, i find community very helpful, and am thankful to blizzard and the community, ty
Really like the forums, wish most games had something like this!
Really like the game but don’t like playing with rogue or hunter. Since this new expansion pack only allows the hunter and rogue to win, maybe I’ll find another game to play in App Store until they correct this
Any way we could bring back the old feature where you couldn’t edit a post, especially the OP/thread title after a certain period of time?
When people are abusing the feature to troll others on what is supposed to be one of the semi official threads for a topic, something needs to be fixed.
Bring hearthstone to ps4 please.
It would give a massive boost to hs. 
So I logged in today and got my quest but I can’t reroll it, fix this issue blizzard and don’t be lazy about it cause that is not cool. I will stop playing and spending money in your game if I can’t ever reroll my quests again: think about that.
I suggest a separate page for BG. Currently it’s all lumped together and the gameplay and cards are all rather different.
Guess I got my answer to that. At time of posting, links to posts in the old forums no longer work, and redirect to the home page of the new ones. That’s disappointing.
Sadly. My player guide that has links to the old forum is now invalid.
Since the last update I cant log in the game from my android tablet it just opens and then closes . Whats wrong ?

It’s sad to say that the world we live in is filled with very soft and emotional people. It’s a "huge " problem in social media. People crave to be accepted and say and do things just to get attention. So when people get down votes / dislikes, they take it personal and stress out over it and some even to the point of suicide! THIS is why the down vote has been taken away from many social media sites.
I am a new player to hearthstone. I tried to pass the adventure mode for Arwyn Mirror Puzzle. However, I just figured out that the hearthstone team remade the card ‘Holy Smite’ from 2 damage to 3 damage, and because of that, the 6-7 Divine Alignment task could not be finished. I hope you could change the card in hand so I could pass the task.
