We need to be loud about runestones

I’m not sure if you are aware, but you are able to pay for a single arena run that costs 1.99$, so your entire argument is invalid, they are clearly willing to bear the “burden” of transaction fees even for small purchases, or at least they were so far.

The problem is we dont know the why?

I do accept they may not want to publish the why as it may be an attempt to end run against some sort of law or agreement.

Adding a new currency is not zero cost for blizzard.

They could be trying to get around gambling laws. I dont care but gambling addiction is actually a thing and if the “solution” becomes widespread they will simply change the law.

They could be trying to get around the costs associated with App Store.

They will certainly make money from every runestone unspent.

As for the various practices gaming companyies can pull around in game currencies, including inflation and obfuscation. we do not know blizzard will do this but we have seen other companies do it.

I have stopped playing some games because they are simply to expensive for what you get. Are we supposed to wait till it passes through the threshold from expensive to too expensive before we complain?

Then why didn’t they use the Battle Net Balance? Seems more efficient, less obfuscation, no transaction fee. It’s probably done for the consumer, it must be the reason, right?

This entire system only exists so corporate could price things awkwardly so players are forced to buy multiple bundles and overpay for one thing. Its a disgusting tactic this company’s been using across all most of their games, and now Hearthstone.

blizz is obviously using the “sell smaller items individually” thing as an excuse to add in a system that allows them to bypass gambling laws. Crazy how far they are willing to go so they can exploit gambling addicts.

???

what do you mean by pricing awkardly ?

what im getting here is

pre order mega bundle =79.99 or 8000 runestones (we can choose how to pay it )

8000 runestones =79.99

you are calling that akward prizing and i have no idea what do you mean by it

Honestly, I think they are pissed that you can buy items with coins and such off Amazon. So their cut is much smaller. Since I purchase Amazon coins at a discount they are getting like 10-20 dollars less overall. The runestones are to make them get the full cut of everything. With prices going up on all their items, I will not be buying any more. I enjoy the game, but feelsbadman to be priced out of something you have enjoyed for years.

As iv pointed out several times people are not reacting in a vacuum. We dont live in a world where Blizzard is some new company and this is a new game and they deserve the benefit of the doubt. They have routinely screwed their employees and customers. They are so greedy they are constantly be targeted with regulations and investigations by governments. You cant pretend this is people being outraged over nothing. Its distrust for a company that has gave us no reason to trust them.

i think the ones getting more runestones than they need are the ones who want to buy cheap cosmetics since which dont give you any advantage

thats why the justified ones are the ones complaining about BG cash only choose between 4 heroes perks
the rest are just trolling / fake outrage

Wow the amount of mindless simping in this is hilarious, “THINK OF THE MULTIMILLION DOLLAR CORP FULL OF RAPISTS.”

best way is to stop playing BG’s or modes that runes are involved.

This doesn’t extend to just battlegrounds anymore from what I gathered. Looking at their runestone pricing thing you can’t buy minisets or adventures with money anymore. It has to be gold or runestones. Again getting away from Amazon coins or Google Play discounts. You also don’t earn reward track for the base game by playing Battlegrounds. Separating them more and more. It no longer becomes a just do what you like and it can be F2P anymore (even if you pay). They are actually taking away a lot of choice from the player and turning it into monetization. The outrage to the rewards track was not warranted. This though, they are legit limiting how you pay and play for this game. This is just the first step into adding a 4th currency with further limitations.

When I first read this announcement one of my first thoughts was this is likely not just targeting BG but also trying to stop people using Bluestack or Android to buy Amazon coins. Heaven forbid a very small subset of the community get a slight discount.

Yes, and don’t forget to do that all your life, cuz it’s not just 10$, but a subscription-based system.
Do you even remember when we paid for games? You pay once, you get rights on the product, just like when you buy food.
The system right now is more like a rent, so yeah, if HS is the same as your home, feel free to pay for temporary rights.
You want to buy a car? Sure, but you can only buy it for a month, then you need to pay again. What? No, it’s not even about bank interest, it’s just that we see in long term, and as long as you keep paying all your life, we’ll make way more money, so thanks!

I am bothered by this as well.

I am annoyed that I can’t even read word documents on my own computer unless I pay a subscription to review my own records.

The fact that people just take this model is amazing.

I want them to sell me a finished product, not make me pay to be a beta tester for them.

I just came back to the game last weekend after more than four months away. Was having fun, spent a fair amount of money to get into constructed with something I found interesting too. Money I’ll now get no mileage out of and will never see refunded. I notice you can still buy card packs with cash for now, but I’m certain that will change as well in the months to come.

We’re “whining” about a thing we paid money for being unsatisfactory. Doesn’t matter if it was $10, or $1000. If you’re fine with it then that’s great. Go enjoy and leave the rest of us the hell alone. Thanks

The problem is simple
It is a bait and switch it was free and part of the gold path. Now it is not. How about being able to purchase runestones with gold 1to1 for at least the first season, and then be able to build them up. As it is I either have to shell out $ or loose out on hero choice effectively cutting my fun in half. This is a giant problem, I’ll play for now but the last time Blizzard mucked with the game hard I left for over a year after having been in it since GVG.
