Solution to continuous roping

After three turns of rope, 5 seconds subtracted each turn until you end a turn without roping. 5 seconds added back second turn without roping.

This would be a huge quality of life improvement for the game

I’m worried that the autoclickers would just be edited so they hit end turn a second or two before the rope finishes burning.

Exactly. The only fix for bots is to use the game’s metrics to detect and ban.

I need all turn time to plan what to play. Sometimes it starts to rope during animations and I wont have enough time to use all new cards I get from spells like Puzzlebox / Yog

The bots and all the bot cards must be destroyed.

BTW, if it’s on casual just concede.

You are not giving up any XP in the process.

The fix is:

  1. Hire people to help find bots
  2. Ban any account found botting for 1 week
  3. Permaban any account found botting a second time

My solution is to concede and move on to the next game. It will save everyone precious time.

In WOW you can ban players in Battle net app, and they won’t be able to talk to you ingame. HS should not match you against player you have put on banlist. It would help, and also make you feel better.

Unfortunately, that kind of system could easily be abused at high Legend ranks. Just ban anyone playing a deck that’s favorable against you and unban them when you switch to a deck that beats theirs. So I don’t think it’s a viable option.

There is a way to report botters so that’s the best solution for now: Bug Report Guidelines

Specifically,

For reporting exploits, cheats, and bots:

  • You can submit a report in the link below:
    [https:// us.blizzard. com/en-us/submit/hacks.html ](https:// us.blizzard. com/en-us/submit/hacks.html)
  • Alternatively, you may send an email to Hacks@blizzard.com with a description with any evidence you have.

(I had to add spaces to the link because the forum won’t let me post links.)

I think roping fo xp could easily be fixed by not giving extra xp for time used but instead give extra xp for TURNS taken.

Also xp by mana used could be nice. This way you would be rewarded if you played cards instead of that constant hero power + rope

Sounds more like people are just salty that there are people out there getting XP while doing nothing vs having to rarely WIN against them. Because if people were complaining about getting free wins that take as long as our draw decides, I would be very concerned about where the world is going. Oh wait! I am.

Seriously. It’s like the Pokemon Go fiasco when the GPS spoofing was a thing. It only helped players and hurt NO ONE, not even the company. But they got it banned because people insist that you MUST be monochrome in life.

Just play the game.

I think it’s both that and the annoyance that you’re wasting your time playing against a bot. Even though it’s a free win, so much time is wasted while waiting for the rope to burn each turn.

Maybe I’m just thicker skinned. Someone not taking their turn effectively, regardless of whether it’s doing nothing, purposeful misplays, suicide runs for quest completions, has absolutely nothing to do with my enjoyment of the game.

Picture yourself at a real table with real people around you. The person you’re playing against is doing any of the things above. What would you do? Get mad? Really? The internet adds a buff to our annoyance centre. Concede or accept the win.

How many are you really encountering? I mean in reality, not just the anecdotes of others on the forums or some streamer you watched. I’ve yet to meet a bot. Ropers? Absolutely hit a few and I’ve even learned to let THAT go.

The point is that there is no real person that you’re facing. You’re playing a bot.

You’re either projecting or assuming here. I don’t get mad about bots.

There are a lot on lower Wild ladder ranks. I encountered them when playing on a server I didn’t play before while rising up the Wild ladder.

So you don’t really believe that bots exist?

Sure they do. Do they exist in a state so bad that it calls for the complete reworking of the game? No. I’d rather they fix things like the mobile connection not working without reprogramming the APN on some of the largest cellular networks in North America. Or maybe fix the memory leak issues that cause the game to increase in input disruptions the more you play on certain video cards. Or maybe concentrate on cards functioning at launch so player resources aren’t wasted on cards that get nerfed each week after release.

I could go on and on. Am I mad? Befuddled is more accurate. I’ve made my points pretty clear. All I see is people getting mad that others aren’t playing a game the way “THEY” want them to.

I welcome any rope bot that comes. I’ll savour the win.

Agreed.

These all sounds like good options.

Time is a nonrenewable resource. It shouldn’t take half an hour to play one game

If you are taking 30 mins to beat someone that isn’t playing any cards and just roping… The issue is your deck, not the opponent.
