Rewards Track Update

I’m not sure how you can blatantly just lie to your player base like this - You assured us that our gold earnings wouldn’t be compromised; actually better if anything. Instead you’ve hamstringed our progression in what is already the most expensive free to play game out there.

You couldn’t even do players who purchased the battle pass the solid of making the golden legendary craftable so that we can at least get our 3200 dust from what is otherwise a fairly memey card (with the exception of OTK decks from the previous meta - which, lets be honest here, not a lot of people are currently playing).

Furthermore, in what what world does having weekly quests like “finish an arena run with four wins” facilitate progression let alone accessibility. Gold acquisition aside, shoe horning players into playing the most polarizing game mode in Hearthstone doesn’t equate to a good gameplay experience.

The XP bonus you gain from purchasing the battle pass is negligible at best - it scarcely brings player progression (from a reward acquisition/earnings standpoint) in line with the previous system… this just adds further context to the fact that this is a money grab where the company profits at the expense of the player’s experience. I’m not sure if this was an attempt on the company’s end to further mitigate or downplay the free component in free to play, but wow did you guys ever let your players down. Let down probably isn’t even the right word; you straight up hurt your players by putting a big exclamation point on the fact that fiscal earnings are significantly more important to you as a company than the player experience.

Such a disappointing and inadequate response. Last expansion I earned 9500 Gold excluding bonus backs from legendary quests. Under the new system I will struggle to earn anywhere near that.
I bought both pre-order bundles, the wild bundle and the mid expansion bundle. I can’t say I have ever been this unenthusiastic about starting a new expansion. I was really happy with the change with monthly rewards the past increase in daily rewards. However it feels like they are trying to become more tight. Blizzard becomes tight I become tight with my wallet too.

An absolutely appropriate response, well said. It’s particularly saddening for those of us who are students playing hearthstone for a varsity e-sports team; not only is card acquisition difficult on a student budget, but having the accessibility of the new progression system grossly over stated really makes me want to reconsider my decision to play this game at a competitive level - or at all,

To be specific, Don’t trust blindly.
Listen to words, see the actions, do your homework and make your own evaluation.

Apologize and apologize again, while you literally have months (if not years) implementing this.
This still not fixing anything. Giving us golds as replacement doesn’t fix:

  • The amount of XP is too low.
  • The price is still too expensive. $80 is more than the cost of 1 full AAA games, and you still not adding the Tavern Pass into it. instead asking for another $20.
  • As a side note, that $80 doesn’t even gave you complete collections, but only 5-6 out of 25 legend cards. EVERY EXPANSION
  • Players now roping the game a lot just to get the XP they needed. Imagine that.

I can’t believe I’m saying this next one, but I very much prefer the old reward system than this one.

Just add 25 gold to all daily quests. This adds 3000 gold per season to the current system.

So they made their first step writing an apology … soon there will be a small update probably making the system a little bit better which will still suck… then they will start throwing events until its totally forgotten.

Thats how Blizzard usually fix things. Also stop f**ing lying Blizz we are tired of this sht give us the truth from the beginning.

I got mine. It even came with a reward in the form of $80 to spend on supporting other game developers and games instead of this one. It was called the “Support Non-Rip Off Games” Achievement. XD

@scoobd-1543 the rates are both linear, its just that the slope of rewards is more shallow compared to the slope of xp/level by a ton. If it was exponential, it would be impossible to get to level 50.

Its fine to be critical, but let’s be accurate.

The replies here are already summed mine.

I will keep my routine with Hearthstone as usual.
Ah, I remember that I have uninstalled Hearthstone and when I see this reward track, I decide to not install it again.

seasonal events where extras on top of your normal gold rewards. It was nice to have but was never “required”.
Using this as a way to get to the baseline of previous earnings means that we will still earn less because now we don’t get the extra gold/packs during those events.

I do not understand why XP per level needs to be so complicated. Why it cannot be simply level * 100? This would mean 4900 XP to progress from 49 to 50 and not ridiculous 9300.
It can even stay at 5000 after level 50 with reward increased to 200g. Progression up to level 50 will be faster and rewards after level 50 will give people missing gold.

Game is down the drain. This is the greediest system ever. Never been so close to ditch the game. You should feel ashamed, you greedy bastards.

As an F2P-player it is now way too hard to earn gold.

Blizzard mother, in the tavern pass if you put the re-skins of the cards, example: fireball = iceball, since they are re-skins that you have already done, it would be cool and the pass I would take it immediately

I think these fixes / updates are not enough because one of the most effective resources for F2P players is missing: The gold reward for three wins. I’ts not possible to compete on a higher level anymore if you don’t spend money on cards.
This is absolutely disappointing…

Generic copy and paste response. We don’t believe you, you straight up lied to the community.

Yes. The change is called Bobby “I don’t care about human beings, I just want to make all of the money to keep my billion dollar a** rich” Kotick. He’s a scourge to Activision-Blizzard and the folks who are attached to Blizzard have to have jobs. Not only that, the bastard makes the company employees pay to eat at the COMPANY cafeteria even though he makes BILLIONS UPON BILLIONS OF DOLLARS and could literally make it to where his workers could eat at said cafeteria for FREE. These devs have to skip meals sometimes just to make rent and such because Kotick is such a slime ball. The CEOs are the issue. Not the devs themselves. They just have a job to do that can be axed at any minute without warning.

Blame Bobby Kotick for the greed. He is the CEO of Activision-Blizzard
