Priest is unhealthy for the game

Hmmm, I’m still right though?

Scarlet Subjugator
Imprisoned Homunculus
Kul Tiran Chaplain
Lightwell
Grandmummy
Dragonmaw Sentinel
Lightspawn

just to mention a few

Don’t forget everyone’s favorite elemental, Lightspawn.

Its not that they just heal and rez. Its that they copy your cards. Hell, they copy cards that are not even in your deck. They have uncounterable combos with no counterplay. They heal the most out of any class. They have board whipes, minion one shot spells, or cards to take control of your minions in the game. They have ludicrous amounts of discovery to get even more board whipes.

Granted warlocks do pretty good against priests because they have board whipes.

My experience on hunter is dont even waste fighting them unless your about to rank up or you are below diamond. If you are a warlock rogue or shaman you have a chance. Otherwise just dont bother fighing them. All you are doing is wasting you time for a slim chance of wining.

Its not like im some noob I have a rogue account in legend and a hunter in diamond 5. I have Golden hero on both been playing for years.

I love playing against them in wild on my mill rogue, watching them pass for 5 turns, then drop an oracle and see them insta-concede or desperately try to dump their hand - it’s hilarious as they can’t really do that much damage early, and all the time I’m burning through their deck

And yet you make posts like one…

Really?

I love running dinomancer warlock into mill rogue. Filling the board with dinomancers and a full hand then I laugh when they try to vanish my board  :joy:.

lol seems they dont know itll trigger deathrattles

not just with dinomancer i won games thx to them bouncing other stuff too and often **they are the reason my hand got full before they play vanish on the same turn **

i can tell they didnt know because they hover over my cards right away trying to figure out what happened

It’s really hard to understand these things when every deck Priest has ever had has been complained about - Res Priest, Raza Priest, Quest Priest, Dragon Priest, Gala Priest…

…they’re just not allowed to have nice things.

this is literally the entire point and most forums blizzard white knights ignore it.

why do you think priest is consistently hated? do you think people just hate priest cause of no reason other then it is priest?

I do. I make a bet, if Tempo Priest becomes a thing people will still qq, even though it isn’t more annoying than any Murloc Pally. And MP can surely beat any non meta deck with ease too.

So it’s not about fun then?

Because it’s the best class to beat brainless vomit-your-hand aggro decks. People strongly dislike having to put thought into this game.

Nope. Not that.

People hate it because it’s a terrible class design with awful mechanics. It should be removed like a bad BG hero and come back in a few months when they figure out how to make not so crappy.

Yup. That.

Nothing awful about healing, minion buffs, or card theft. Resurrection could be better, admittedly, but given the on-and-off support for resurrect archetypes, that hardly seems like an issue. It’d be nice if we could get some card draw or from-hand damage back instead of stall and resource generation, but that ship has clearly sailed.

…that’s like the opposite of the truth. Aggro vomit decks are actually one of the better answers to priests, as they kill the priest before they get a chance to do any of their tricks or reach late game.

Murloc paladin, for example. Or better yet, aggro paladins when they had divine favor.

The other good alternative is to vomiting pressure. This doesn’t have to mean aggro. You just had to keep putting pressure on the priest so that he uses up his removals, perhaps inefficiently, just to stay alive and/or not able to develop his own game plan. Several hunter decks have been able to maintain face pressure consistently even with very few cards used, because hunters as a class is like that (right now, that extra 3 damage from the dragon weapon for example). Rogues right now can pressure a priest with lackeys and extra resource gen. Highlander mage doesn’t go aggro from turn 1, but they can drop tempo bombs very cheaply in the mid-late game (plus rolling the dice with their casino mechanics) such that a priest is forced to expend more removals/minions to deal with it.

The decks that priest does the best are ones that DON’T vomit, that try to play with brains and thought. Right now for example, warriors are one of if not the best matches for priests. And none of the popular warrior decks can win just by vomitting. Bombs and pirate have combos that demand thought in when and how to play them. Enrage mechanic takes thought on when to use it, on which minion, etc. Control warrior is, well, a control deck.

Priests telling people that their class beat brainless decks is a line fit for the novel 1984.

War is Peace
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength.
Priest beats aggro vomit decks.

Both of these things are beyond awful.

Card theft should leave the game and never return. For any class.

Resurection of minions is bullspit too, particulary when those minions are reborn minions. Playing the same taunt eight times in a game is stupid game play for everyone involved.

It’s like they stopped developing and said priests can just use other class stuff and they are fine.

It’s terrible design and not fun to play or against.

Again, you aren’t hard to beat, you just aren’t good for the game.

Still better than those 20 lackies that didn’t start in the deck and empower “created by” play. It’s easy to play against the res mechanic, you can’t do anything against rng bs.

Players hate Priest because Priest can heal to almost full health and has insane late game value. The idea behind Priest should be “stay alive long enough to execute my game plan.”

And once they do, the longer you’re in the match, the more cards they’re going to play. And some Priest matches can get long and intense. You might lose to 20 Hunters by T6 and not bat an eye.

But that one priest stands out in your mind because it’s memorable due to the length of the match.

The idea that aggro doesn’t take skill is a very narrow minded school of thought. Just because you like to draw out matches as long as possible (and probably missing lethal more often than not) doesn’t give you the right to assume anyone playing an aggro deck is an idiot.

Your morality and IQ does not change with the deck you play. Hunter and Priest are my favorite classes but Priest doesn’t have anything good and relies way too much on random card generation.

This is what made Cleric so great - she could help you with card draw without the RNG of random card generation. Yes, Priest has some powerful spells but they also have a lot of situational spells.

The class you describe is called Paladin or Warlock.

So can mage vs anything non aggro. I need on average less time with my Priest than with my Warlock.

Aggro and control takes a different kind of skills and aren’t really comparable, though the longer the game the more likely it is to screw up. Games that last 20 turns can indeed decisvely be settled by one mistake in the lategame. A Murloc Paladins life is rather chill^^ (It’s quickly over and doesn’t take much mental energy and you become less tilted compared to playing a 20 mins game and you lose)
